Yesterday, dadi, moma and i went to the park. We had a nice evening out but it got pretty scary when we got home. Jedi, our dog was really excited to see us when we got home so we let him in the house along with us. he went running in like a crazy dog and we're not exactly sure what happened next. he fell on the ground and he started moving his legs like he was running, but he was on his side. he had a funny look on his face and so we knew something was wrong. the next thing he did was the most frightening. he stopped moving and let out a big breath, but he didn't appear to take in a new one. he was completely limp and his tongue was sticking out of his mouth. his eyes were glassed over and i thought he was dead. i started crying and i was telling dadi that he was dead. dadi was on the ground trying to see what had happened. he was touching him and trying to get him to move. he pick him up and he was totally lifeless with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. i was so sad. i was crying and kind of hysterical. finally after what seemed like forever but was probably only about a minute. he moved and was a little disoriented. it took another minute and then he was completely fine and back to his normal happy self. it was the weirdest thing. we're not sure what happened. dadi said that when he ran into the house, he ran into the stairs. we think he may have knocked himself out. either that, or he had a stroke or something. anyways, i couldn't stop crying even after we knew everything was okay. it was so sad and scary. we have had jedi since we first got married and he is getting older. especially for a boxer. most boxers only live to be about 8 and he just turned 8 at the beginning of the month. it's going to be sad when he dies. i just want it to be something less dramatic as what happened last night. that is definitely not how i want to see him go. he is our first baby. he seems to be doing just fine now, but i am a little concerned since we are leaving to go out of town tomorrow. my sister is going to watch the house for us and she's going to pay special attention to jedi for us. i hope that he is okay and that this was just a fluke thing that happened. we would hate to come home to bad news.
anyways, today, i'm going to pack for our trip and get everything in order in the house. i also have to prepare a lesson. tonight, i am teaching the 10 and 11 year old girls at church about the young womens program. i also have an activity with my class and we're having a "picnic". we're playing games and having a water balloon fight. it should be fun. alright, well, if i don't post tomorrow, i'll post after we get back from our trip.

Oh, that sounds so scary. Scott's mom just had to put down her beloved pug of 8 years. She was soooo sad about it. Seriously, I have only seen her cry once...when we told her we were pregnant with Ryley. She couldn't even talk about his death without crying. He died of cancer. They would remove bumps and then there would always be more to remove. He got so bad he couldn't walk. It was sad for her. But she still has her little black pug, peepers. Who knows how much longer she will live though. She is getting old and is losing the muscles in her back legs.
Have fun on your trip! I hope I can get to Mammoth someday! Scott and I are going to Seattle this weekend. We are going to go to Harry Potter and the zoo. It will be nice to have Grandma watch the kids so we can go on a date night!
That's so scary! I hope Jedi is ok. I think he's a total sweetie and I'll be sad when he's gone too. I hope you guys have fun on your trip!
