It's my party....

Well, I'm officially the biggest NERD to ever walk the planet. But, I'll get to that story in a bit. Last night we joined my dad and step mom at the Tustin tiller days fair to see my grandma (step moms mother) preform with her senior women's dance group. She has been doing this for years and is one of the choreographers. It was a fun night. we got there around 4:00 and went on some very overly priced kiddie rides with moma and ate some yummy fair food.
My dad bought some ride tickets and went on the merry-go-round with moma. This ride cost $6.00 for the both of them to ride! what a rip off, but we did get some cute pictures so i guess it was worth it.

My dad almost won this. The little metal thingy was just 6 inches from the top. Too bad he didn't win moma a cool stuffed animal.

Me and dadi spent a couple of bucks trying to win a goldfish, but weren't able to get the balls into the fish bowls. one of mine went inside one bowl, but bounced right back out so that was a bummer.

Moma and my step mom went on the train. Again, this cost $6.00 for them to ride. Really not worth it to ride in a small circle four times. i could have done that for free in her stroller but whatever. Going to a fair is all about over priced food and ride tickets right?
Alright, now on to the embarrassing part of my adventure. We were sitting at a table eating our food waiting for my grandmas show to start when a man came up to our table and asked if any of us would be interested in competing in the lip singing contest. We all begged my dad to do it and after a little while, he said yes. Later, when i found out what the prizes were and how few contestants there were, i told dadi that i should compete and try to win a prize too. he didn't think i would do it so just to prove him wrong, i went up to the front and signed up. I had to choose a 50's song and "it's my party and I'll cry if i want to" was the only one that i even knew SOME of the words. So when it was my turn, i went up there and acted like the biggest idiot ever in front of about 100 or so strangers. I was pretty nervous but i really wanted to win a prize and if any of you know anything about me, it's that I'll do just about anything for a free gift or money. So here's the picture to prove that i did in fact go on stage, sing like an idiot and i even shook my butt at the audience a couple of times......

This is truly embarrassing when i think about it, but i actually had fun. luckily I'll never see those people again.

My dad won first prize (of course). this is a picture during his encore performance in which he jumped around the stage to "johnny be good". he won a $100.00 gift card to a local hair salon. Not bad for acting silly for a couple minutes. It's sure a good thing that songs in the 50's weren't as long as they are today. I won a $50.00 gift card to a day spa!! how cool is that? I'm thinking about getting the sea salt and herb massage they offer. That sounds like fun!

Here's my grandma shakin' her groove thing on stage with all the other old ladies in her group. she has been dancing for as long as i can remember and when i was younger (in about the fourth grade) i used to teach her all the new dance moves, like the snake, running man and roger rabbit. i definitely have some fun memories of dancing with her.

This picture is the best. this part of the show they danced to a hip hop song and they had the outfits to go along with the hip hop theme. it was hilarious. they even did some booty dancing that was probably a little inappropriate for the children watching.

Again, this picture is hilarious. The were shaking and gyrating all over the stage. It's amazing that these women are in such good shape to be doing this at their age.

Here she is in the middle of the picture. very cute.

towards the end of the show, moma wanted to dance too so she went towards the front and started dancing for the crowd. she's a show stealer!!
Alright, that's it for the pictures of last night. I can't wait to go and get my spa treatment. I'm going to Hawaii in a couple weeks so i could get something to warm me up for that trip. they have spray tanning. Maybe I'll get that so i don't look so very very white while I'm there. have any of you ever gotten a spray tan? if so, let me know what you think about it. and, i know about the self tanning lotions and how they make you look orange, so I'm only wanting to hear from the people that actually went to a tanning place and got it done professionally. today we're just watching general conference on TV. dadi has an open house today so I'm taping the second session and we're going to watch it later tonight together. general conference is where the leaders of the church speak and it's broadcast all over the world. it's done two times a year and we don't go to church for it since it's broadcast on cable television in our area. if you don't have cable, then you can go to your local church building and watch it there.
okay, that's it for the weekend adventures of superawesomefamily!!

That is awesome you won $50 for a day spa. I would LOVE that! Oh man, that would be so sweet.
I have never done the spray tan, but I hear it is pretty awesome. I would totally do it. However, just because you are tan doesn't mean you don't have to wear sunscreen. You can still get burned even if you have that spray tan on.
