Poll Results

I'm saddened by the results of my last poll. Most of you have a fake Christmas tree. Dadi and i are strongly against fake trees. We love the smell of real trees. Going out and picking the perfect one is always an adventure. If you buy a fake tree, they're always going to be very perfect looking, but when you buy a real tree, to find one in the right shape with no holes is a fun and exciting experience. when you do finally find the perfect tree, it's such an awesome feeling. It's like that moment in Christmas Vacation when the Griswold's find their tree and the lights are shining down from Heaven and angels are singing. That's how i feel when we find our tree each year. This year we only had to go to one place to find it, but sometimes it takes us hours and traveling around to different lots to find the perfect one. I look forward each year to picking out our tree. I know many of you don't like to deal with real trees, but it's soooo worth it to me and i don't look at it as being a hassle at all. it's all part of the Christmas experience for us. If i ever do buy a fake tree, it better be because I'm too old and crippled and can't get out of my house to go and pick one out. even then, i may just have one of my kids or neighbors go and pick one out for me. Real trees are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I LOVE real trees and never had one until I was given a fake tree. Now, it's easier and cheaper to just use that. When that breaks or is taken back from it's owners we'll get real trees.

I agree with you! REAL TREES ALL THE WAY! We aren't getting a tree this year because we are leaving in 11 days for Utah and I still haven't bought one, so we're skipping this year and we'll enjoy Grandma and Grandpa's real tree. I don't want a fake tree. I love the smell of a real one.

We bought a fake one last year with a gift card we got to Target. It was 50% off! Yeah!
Mostly we did it so we didn't have to spend $30-40 every year for a tree that we throw away in 3 weeks.

I really love real trees as well. I grew up with them. A few years ago we bought a fake tree and it has saved us tons of money. I think that's the main reason for having a fake tree. Sorry to have disappointed you!! (Sounds like it's all out of convienence and saving money!!)

yep, melanie it looks like it's about saving money which i can respect.
we just add the tree into our christmas budget each year so we can be sure to have one.

It's not even Christmas unless there's a real tree inside my house! To me, I'd feel like I was having a pretend Christmas if I had a pretend tree! You are 100 percent right!

I grew up with a fake tree and always said I would have a real tree when I left home. Well who did I marry but the son of a fireman who's all paranoid about Christmas tree fires, so yeah it's fake tree city for us. Very disappointing. I should have interviewed him more carefully or made him sign a Christmas tree pre-nup. :)
