Christmas Cards

Well, this week has been really hectic. I finally got my Christmas cards out this afternoon and I'm so happy about it. FINALLY!!!!! I'm usually pretty good about getting them out the first week in December, but i just couldn't find the energy or the time to get them all done and out. I usually order them through shutterfly because they come with envelopes and are delivered right to my house, but since i was so late in getting them out this year, i had to come up with something quick. i ordered them through wal-mart and they were ready for pick up in one hour. i then had to go and buy envelopes but couldn't seem to get to the store until this morning. Also, i have been working on getting every ones correct addresses for the past week and i received my last one this morning. YES!! So i spent this afternoon stamping and stuffing and sealing the envelopes. I like how they turned out and will probably use wal-mart from now on since i can just go and pick them up in one hour and not have to wait 5 days for them to be sent through shutterfly. I didn't, however, do a poem this year. I'm a little sad about it but i knew if i tried to sit down and work on it, something would interrupt me and it would delay my cards getting out in the mail. oh well... there's always next year!
tonight i am going to my friends house to babysit her kids so that her and her husband can have a date night. we started trading babysitting every Friday night. last week was our turn for a date night and this week it's theirs. their kids are super easy and go to bed early and without a fight just like moma so it's not going to be a big deal. I am taking moma with me so that she can play with them though. i will just have to put her down there in her port-a-crib when 7:00 bed time rolls around. i will probably end up falling asleep on their couch since i am pooped and didn't sleep very well last night. we had our heater on and it was getting too hot upstairs so i finally went down and turned it off at 4:00 a.m. after tossing and turning and being uncomfortable for hours. we need to close off the vents up there so that the heat can just get pumped in downstairs and rise up to the second floor. otherwise, the first floor is freezing and the second is like an oven.
I'm going to get some Christmas shopping done this weekend. i know the mall is going to be nuts but i don't care. it's all part of the Christmas experience and i love it!
