Weekend Fun

This weekend was a lot of fun.
Friday..... we started it off on Friday afternoon when my dad came by during a break from work and brought me and moma lunch. we ate arby's. i had never had arby's before and i have to admit i was a little bit afraid. it was pretty good though. in the past, moma has been a little bit shy when she's around my dad. she likes women better than men (except dadi) so when my dad came over and she hugged my leg, i thought "here we go again!" but she opened up very quickly and they had the best time. my dad's nickname is "papa V". it was so funny because she would play and play until he got tired and tried to sit on the couch. then she would come over and grab his finger and say "c'mon poppy bee" and lead him some where in the house to play again. it was fun and I'm so happy that she's finally opened up to him. now he can see her in all her cuteness instead of being this little shy girl attached at her moms leg!! Friday afternoon, i went to the grocery store to pick up some frozen pizza for the girls that were coming over to babysit moma. of course since i was at the store, i just had to buy cadbury creme eggs. (there's only a few days left!!!! I'm sad) i also picked up some ben and jerry's. dadi and i had talked about going and getting an ice cream after we went to the temple but ben and jerry's is super yummy and it was on sale so it was cheaper for us to just buy that and not go out for ice cream. so i picked up the girls (k and b) and they came over to watch moma for us. moma was super excited when she saw them and couldn't wait for us to leave so she could have them all to herself. dadi and i went to macaroni grill for an early dinner and then we headed to the temple. we had a great night and it was a great start to the weekend. we came home and ate our ben and jerry's and relaxed and caught up on some shows we had taped before heading off to bed. oh and one of the best parts was that the girls didn't charge us for babysitting. we tried to pay them but they said that they never charge if we're going to the temple. they said it was a good way to give service. i was super happy about that!!! dadi told them that we were going to go to the temple every night then!
Saturday... We started off the morning by going garage sailing. we have started looking for a dresser for the baby's room. we had moma tell us which way to go driving around the neighborhood in search of garage sales. we would say "this way?? or that way??" and she would point which way she wanted to go. then when we would turn in that direction she would say "thank you dadi" it was pretty cute. so she led us to a garage sale and they had changing table that was super nice and in great condition. besides being a little bit dusty, it looked brand new. we bought it for $20.00. we didn't have a changing table for moma so to find one for so cheap and in such great shape, we just had to get it. they also had a side rail for moma's bed that she's going to be moving into. they wanted $8.00 for it but we talked him down to $5. when we opened up the box it was in, we realized that it was brand new!! we're so lucky!! so we didn't find a dresser, but we scored on the other items. we also went to the cypress college swap meet and walked around. my belly started getting sore about half way through so we decided to head home. we picked up some subway sandwiches and went home and ate them. moma took a nap and dadi and i both ended up falling asleep as well. after our naps, we got the changing table out of the van and cleaned it all up and disinfected it. now the baby's room has it's first item of furniture! yeah!!
Sunday... Sunday morning we woke up and had some breakfast. i didn't feel like eating cereal and the only thing that sounded good to me was left over spaghetti and garlic bread so i had that. it was yummy and hit the spot. next we got ready for church and we were on time!! dadi gave the opening prayer so we kind of had to be there on time. i gave the closing prayer. we had a speaker from another ward come and she actually used to be my relief society president. she gave the best talk and shared some of her personal stories with everyone and how the gospel has helped her in her life. her story was amazing and i wonder if i went through some of the trials that she did, if i could have that sort of faith. she's such a sweet lady. my lesson went well and so did dadi's. dadi is teaching the six year olds now so he always has some funny story to tell after church. this weeks was when he asked the class "who was the only perfect person to live here on earth?" a little boy raised his hand and said "you!!" dadi was like, "well, thank you but that's not that answer i was looking for." they're funny. after church, dadi had to work and go and show some houses to a friend of the family that is looking to buy. they met over at my moms house so i went over there so i could visit with my sister while they were out looking for houses. i brought momas port a crib and blankie so she could take her nap. well, she would not fall asleep knowing that her auntie was in the next room so i finally just gave up and brought her out into the living room with me. during our visit she got a hold of a green marker and decided to use it as lip stick and then drew lines all over her arm. she didn't get it on her dress or the walls, just herself. thank goodness for that. i was making a sandwich in the kitchen during her makeover session. i think she was just getting ready for st. Patrick's day early. she's festive! dadi came back and we headed home. we put moma down about an hour early for bed since she didn't take a nap at all the whole day (first time ever) and she slept until 9:00 this morning. i couldn't believe it but i have to say it was pretty nice. since she is my alarm clock, i got to sleep in too!! Yeah!!
Tonight, we are going over to my moms house for a BBQ. she just got a BBQ for her new house so she's been grilling like a maniac and invited us over. it should be fun, but i know that moma is going to be off schedule today since we won't have her home and in bed by 7:30 like normal. my sister won't even be home until 6:30 so we won't eat until after that. i guess it's good that she slept in this morning. she's really good at getting back on track when things get changed in her schedule so I'm not too worried about it. it's just that usually by about 7:00 i'm really looking forward to her going to bed. then at about 8:30 after i've had some down time, i start thinking about waking her up so we can play. i never do of course, but i have to admit that the thought does cross my mind.
that's about it. today I'm just doing some laundry and going to the store to pick up a few things for the BBQ this evening. i will probably have to get some more cadbury creme eggs too since I'll already be at the store and i only have a few days left before Easter and then they'll go away for a year. that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!
