We've been a little crazy and stressed out over here. here's just a little bit of what's been going on... and yes... i am actually leaving some stuff out though you wouldn't know it by the length of this post....
Wednesday... bro and sis in law from Virginia came for a visit with their four kids. they got there around 1:00 and we just hung out until later that afternoon when bro and sis in law from Lancaster came for the evening. it was a fun night and i believe i already posted about it in the previous post.
Thursday... went to Disneyland after dadi got off work and met up with s and c and the kids. c's dad and step mom were also there. we had a nice time. it was a little bit hectic because i had little ones that couldn't go on the bigger rides that everyone else wanted to go on. it was their first time at California adventure so dadi wanted to show them the cool rides like soaring over California and stuff. the wait was 45 minutes for soaring and so i decided that i would take moma and baby g on some kiddie rides but when i heard that the pixar parade was starting in 15 minutes i decided to watch that instead. it was fun. we got squirted with water and moma loved popping the bubbles. we left the park at about 9:00 and hurried to the parking lot to watch the fireworks. we had a prime spot for it since we were on the top level of the parking garage. moma loved calling out the colors of the fireworks. it was fun but super loud!!
Friday... On Friday i noticed that baby g was running a slight fever and had a runny nose. some of the older cousins were sick so i was worried that he had caught it from them. i took him to the after hours clinic at my doctors office and got him all checked out. the doctor said he was fine and just to keep and eye on him. he doesn't have a fever anymore but his nose is snotty. while i was at the doctors i decided to weigh him to see if he's getting enough milk from me since i had issues with that when i breastfed moma. i put him on the scale and was so happy when i saw that he weighed 11 lbs 3 oz. he gained 2 1/2 pounds in 3 weeks since his 2 week appointment. yeah baby! moma went to the angel game with my mom that night and they had a great time. the angels got killed so my mom said that she was happy moma was there to keep her entertained.
Saturday- we went to the swap meet in the morning with s and c and kids and then later in the day we were supposed to go to do a bonfire at the beach. i knew it would be slim pickins on the fire pits if we didn't get there super early in the day so i made a back up plan to go over to our cousins house and play in the yard and use their pit. by the time we left for the beach it was after 4:00 and i knew we wouldn't get a pit but i thought we could still have fun at the beach for a couple of hours and then head over to the a's house for a bonfire but when we saw how packed the parking lot was at the beach, we decided to just turn around and head back home, swim at our pool for a few hours and then go to the a's for a bonfire. it worked out great and we had a nice time even though a huge spider tried to land on Vivian's head to attack her. yikes! also on Saturday when we came home from the swap meet, we noticed that our dog, jedi (the boxer) was acting really weird and slow. it looked like he had had a stroke. he was leaning to one side and unsteady on his feet. he kept stumbling and wasn't responding to us. it was so sad. it's been a rough few days. we're still deciding if we want to put him down or not. he is 9 years old and boxers usually only live to be about 8. he has some thyroid problems which aren't life threatening but i read up on the Internet about strokes in dogs and boxers and dogs with thyroid conditions are more susceptible to them. also, it looks like once they have one stroke, they seem to get them over and over again. it's so sad. so after this happened, we started talking about what we would do if we had to put him down and we started to think about the future of our other dog p.d.. he would be so lonely without Jedi and we know that Jedi isn't going to be around much longer. also, we're just not able to give him the attention that he is used to anymore. before we had kids, the dogs were our babies. they were inside the house all the time being treated like kings. now i barely let p.d. in the house because moma torments him and it's too stressful for me. (Jedi does better with her and she doesn't bother him as much since he is a big dog). so we got to talking about it and we remembered that our friends just had to put their dog to sleep a few weeks ago and have been looking for another dog. they have watched p.d. for us in the past when we have gone out of town and stuff and they just love him. they are total animal people. they don't have any kids so their animals are their kids. after thinking about it, we decided to give them a call and they were so excited to take p.d. for us. I'm sad because i love p.d. so much. he was my little cuddle buddy before i had moma but I'm trying to not be selfish since i know that he would get way more attention and have a better life over there. they have a house with a big yard for him to run in. we just have a small patio where we live. he's going to be treated so well so I'm happy for him. they even said that he would be sleeping in the bed with them!! that's something that we would never have allowed but he'll love it. so we took him over there yesterday and he walked around like he owned the joint. we left him there but will get him back this weekend when they go out of town. then he will be over there with them permanently. it's good because they live close and we can see him every once and a while.
On Sunday night i got a call from my dad that their dog Darla had drown in their Jacuzzi. it is really sad. my step mom doesn't have any children and her dogs are her life. to her it's like losing a child. my dad was on a camping trip when it happened so she is the one that found her. i guess she had been outside for only about 20 minutes and when my step mom went out there to look for her, she found her in the water. my dad and step mom are really upset. she hadn't been in great health and was getting up there in years so they were coming to terms with the fact that she wasn't going to be around much longer, but to find her like that was very devastating. they had always expected that they would take her in and hold her while they gave her the shot to put her to sleep so this was a major shock to them. it's just so sad and i feel so sorry for them.
today was the doctors appointment with the surgeon for my hernia. it was such a mess. i show up and they tell me that they don't except my insurance!! so why would they send me there right? so lame and such a waste of really valuable time. first of all, my insurance is expiring in a few days so i was already stressing about that. new insurance won't cover the hernia because it's a "pre-existing" condition so i have 6 days to get this fixed before my insurance runs out. my doctor wouldn't allow me to see the surgeon or get the surgery until 6 weeks after the baby was born so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. i talked with the office manager at the surgeons office and she said that she would speak with one of her doctors that has been know to occasionally accept the type of insurance that i have. she said she would let me know on Wednesday if he was willing to do it for me. so right now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. if he won't do it, then I'm totally screwed. we can't afford to pay for the surgery and insurance won't cover it so it's a big mess. what can we do? hopefully this office manager can talk the surgeon into helping me out. if not, i will probably just have to live with it and hope that it doesn't strangulate which would be bad because i would have to have emergency surgery and possiblly have a portion of my intestines removed. doesn't that just sound freaking lovely!!???!! oh, i was totally embarrassed at the doctors office because as soon as they said that they didn't accept my insurance, i started crying like a total idiot and i couldn't get a hold of myself. i was just so ticked off that they would send me to a surgeon that doesn't even accept my insurance?? that's retarded. when i get really mad, i cry. for those of you that read twilight... I'm just like Bella. plus i was stressed out because of the flood of worries that came into my head about having to pay for the surgery or not being able to get it done at all. this whole situation is such a mess and it just stinks! I'm just trying to not think about it until after i hear from the office manager on Wednesday. she did mention one other option for me but it involves dishonesty and I'm not sure how i feel about it. basically she told my in not so many words to go to the emergency room before the 31st when it expires and say it is hurting me so that they'll do the emergency surgery. so right now, I'm praying for one of two things to happen... the first and best option would be for the surgeon to take me even though he won't make as much money by accepting my insurance and fix me up before Sunday. the second would be for the hernia to pop out by Sunday so that i can get the surgery done and continue to be honest. if either of those two things doesn't happen, then i really have no clue what I'll do. like i said it's a total mess. for those of you that have insurance through the company that you work for, thank your lucky stars. when you are self employed and have to pay for private insurance, they can deny you up and down and all over the place which is why I'm in this mess to start off. when you get it through your work through a big company plan, they can't deny you and they'll accept pre-existing conditions.
oh what now... moma just started complaining that her ear hurts and she's been congested the last few days so I'm wondering if she's got an ear infection. just another little thing to add to the pile of crap that has landed on me lately. i know things could be worse so I'm trying not to be negative but I'm just venting because that's what i do.
I'll end things on a less depressing note.... besides all the junk I've mentioned above, we're all doing really good and we're happy. we have a lot of things to look forward to in the next few weeks so that's good. I'm just so lucky to have such a great family. dadi is awesome and is so good at calming me down when I'm stressed. i just love him. kids are awesome too. they're so much fun and cuddling baby g is giving me peace today. i told myself that i would start working with him to get him on the "baby wise" schedule today but after my doctors appointment this morning i decided to just let him eat when he wants to and sleep when he wants to so that i don't have a screaming baby all day. plus i like the cuddling he provides. he's giving me much needed loves. hopefully tomorrow will be better and i can start him on the schedule then.

When it rains it pours! I'm glad that you had fun with the family in town.
i'm sorry you've had a rough week, hang in there.
FYI having insurance through your work isn;t that much better, they do not pay for preexisting conditions unless you were insured 12 months prior to the newinsurance, and deductibles suck, so far this year, Ryder and marc have racked up 6 grand in medical bills that we're stuck paying! it sucks. why is healthcare so expensive?
anyway, i'm sad to hear about pd and Jedi, I hate losing pets, I hope you have a better week.
