Here are some pictures of the motorcycle, the helmet and leather jacket mister studly was wearing. the motorcycle looks pretty good considering everything that happened. it really just laid down on it's side and didn't roll or anything so the damage is to one side only. also i didn't mention this before, but when everything was said and done, the motorcycle was about 25 feet behind me and mister studly was about 15 feet in front of me so he was about 40 feet from where the bike landed. he rolled and slid for quite a while. he looks so much better than he feels. since i witnessed the whole thing, i know he is hurting. at first he said he felt like he had been beat up by ten guys but yesterday when he woke up, he said he felt like he had been beat up by twenty guys! he's going to be sore for awhile. so glad he has vicodin to help with the pain. he has been sleeping so much but he needs it.
Here is part of the bike. you can see that it's missing a lot of stuff like the mirrors and things. i remember seeing a lot of little shiny things in the road and and in the air.
Here's the tank. it has some scrapes and dents.
Here are the lifesavers
You can see where he slid on the helmet and also the crack where he busted it (three lines in helmet). he was knocked out as soon as he hit the ground. he doesn't remember anything about that part of the accident. he just remembers waking up with a bunch of people around him. he was a little out of it for about 15 minutes, but by the time the ambulance got to the hospital, be was doing better and cracking jokes.
His leather jacket and gloves really saved him from getting more scrapes and bruises. the helmet saved his life for sure. anytime a helmet cracks, it can't be good.
Here is the bruise on his back. it's already healing today. it was pretty black at first.
here's one of his ouchies on his knee. it's yucky looking but it could have been so much worse. I'm so glad he is okay. I'm just worried that he will have more issues later like back or neck pain. sometimes things like that don't show up right away.
Moma is pretty funny lately. since she witnessed the accident as well, she has been saying funny things. her favorite thing to talk about is how "daddy got a bonk and he rolled and rolled and rolled" and she'll say stuff like "is daddy goin' to da hus-pit-oll today?" and yesterday during breakfast she said "mommy, tell me da story of daddy's accident" it's kind of funny but sad at the same time.

Wow! That is really scary and makes it even more when seeing the bike and his gear. Thank goodness for blessings and the priesthood!
I'm so glad he was wearing those things to protect him! A lot of people up here ride motorcycles wearing shorts, flip-flops, short sleeves, and no helmet.
Hi, I am on the May 09 babies board and hopped on over to see your blog. I am sorry about your husbands accident. My dad was also in a motercycle accident in August and WASN'T wearing his helmet. He has lasting brain injuries b/c of it. I am so glad your husband was being safe and wearing his protective gear.
