So this last week was interesting. I've been doing a lot of studying of new things online. Mister studly is over it since he says I'm on the computer all the time. but i seriously felt like i learned so many new things this week. i made some bows for moma's hair by using a friend of a friends blog instructions. here 's the link.... http://brooklynsbows.blogspot.com/ , i read up on how to get started on food/water storage. we have already started on our food storage, but i read up more on it and learned new things. I've been slightly obsessed with the whole prop 8 trauma and was researching things online like who said what, where protests were happening, etc. mister studly told me that i needed to chill out. i was becoming obsessed and I've taken a little break from that stuff though i did write the govenator about the supreme court possibly overturning the peoples vote yet again on this issue.
so I've just been soaking up new things this week which is really weird for me since usually i could care less about all that learning stuff. I'm aren't too smart.
Okay so this weekend was fun and crazy all at the same time.
I went shopping with my mom and sister on Saturday morning. we left the kids home with mister studly and had a nice day. we went to Kohl's because i had a gift certificate and they were having a sale. i bought three shirts and 8 place mats for my new table. i scored. after that, we got some lunch at johnny rockets and i got a chocolate coke. i use to get them at ruby's on the pier like five gajillion years ago and i wanted to see if i still thought they were good. they were and the manager gave me a free refill. i asked him (he was our server because they were busy) if i could get a free refill of just coke if i bought a chocolate coke and he said that he would give me a refill of the chocolate shot too! what a nice guy! it was super good. i haven't been eating very much lately. i guess because i am not breastfeeding as much, my appetite has slowed. today i barely ate anything. I'm also not feeling the greatest today so that might be one of the reasons. so... back to my shopping story. we came out of the restaurant after lunch and there were beautiful blue skies. we could smell smoke because of all the fires going on in so cal over the weekend, but the skies above were blue. then we turned around! uhhh...not so blue. the sky behind us was black with smoke! it was crazy. my mom said that it looked like it was over by where my dad lived and said i better call him. i did and he said hat he was stuck at the golf course. he had been golfing when his wife called him and said that there was a fire near their house. he told her to call her and give him updates on the fire while he golfed. within an hour, she called him and said they were being mandatory evacuated from their home. he could not even get up to his house to help her load the car or whatever. she decided to stay at the house and water down the patio, etc. she lives next to a sheriff and he basically said he was staying in his home and listening to the police radio and would let her know when it become absolutely necessary to get out. my dad couldn't get in because all the roads and free ways were closed. he tried to park his car and walk in, but the police stopped him and said they would arrest him if he went any further. he came and stayed the night with us. his wife ended up staying the night in their home because all the roads were closed and she kind of got stuck up there. her neighbor's daughter is mentally disabled and is on a respirator and such. the firefighters allowed that family to stay behind and told them they would personally evacuate them if it became necessary. they told my step mom that they would come and get her if they needed to be escorted by the fire department and just say she was family staying with them. so we knew she would most likely be safe up there at the house but she just couldn't get out on her own. their poor dog got sick because of the smoke and started throwing up. poor guy. so my dad was here last night and spent the night. he didn't have any clothes. toothbrush, etc because he had to come straight from the golf course to our home. luckily we had some clothes he could borrow of mister studlys and i had just bought a new toothbrush (with my coupons) that had not been opened yet so he was all set here. the fires here have just been out of control. everyone i know has a massive headache today because of the smoke. it' nuts. i feel so bad for all the people that lost their homes, etc. the fire came within 100 yards of my dads home, but thank goodness his home was not burned down or damaged. so many stores in his neighborhood also burned and some cars at a dealership exploded as well. oh... one super funny thing that happened last night. i came down stairs and handed my dad some clothes to wear of mister studly's and said "here, you can change into these" moma got really weird all the sudden and started hiding behind me and tugging on my shirt. i turned to her to see what her problem was and she said-almost crying- "i don't want to see papa naked!!" she was freaking out thinking he was going to change right there in the living room in front of us all. i started busting up laughing and told her he would go in the bathroom to change and she wouldn't see him naked. she calmed down after that. the funny thing is that we are so not modest with her yet so it was very funny that she recognized that seeing some one naked would be weird. that's the way i like it!! keep up that modesty girl! i remember when we went to get the ultra sound done when i was pregnant with her to see the sex and every time the lady would move the thing to get a good shot of the important parts, she would put her hand down there and cover it up. seriously it was so funny. she would move her hand away and so the lady would really quick slide the thing back over to take a look at her parts and she would stick her hand down there and cover it up again. it was so funny. we were joking how she was already so modest before she was even born. what a silly little girly.
alright... well, that's about it. oh.. my dad was ale to go home this morning but he barely made it because they closed the roads again after he went in. they're opened again now though. the fires have moved on to another place. which is actually in my aunt and uncles neighborhood in chino hills. so far they have not been evacuated and i think they have that fire under control so hopefully it will not affect them but it's still scary.
this was super long huh?? sorry about that. hope all is well out there.
