Well, the garage sale yesterday was a success. but there were some scary moments. i definitely think i could have made more if the weather wasn't so unpredictable. as soon as we set up, i started sprinkling. i got nervous and no people came by. usually people are there before I'm even done setting up. but no one showed up for the first hour and a half and so i was thinking "what a big fat waste of time" but people started coming and soon we were hopping!! i sold things very cheap because i really did not want to load the stuff and take it to the goodwill. and by 10:00 i was selling everything for a quarter. no matter what it was. i just figured people would buy more if things were only a quarter and they did. i got rid of tons of stuff and when all was said and done i only had 6 trash bags to take to goodwill. i started out with about 20 so that's pretty good in my opinion. i made $169.00. i could have made more but like i said, i was selling things super cheap. i know a lot of people that try to get top dollar at their garage sales and my philosophy is that these are things i'm getting rid of and going to donate if i can't sell them so i might as well try and get something for them even if it's only a quarter. at the very end of the day (like at 12:00) i told everyone that everything was free and i got rid of a lot more stuff. i was so excited to tell mister studly that he would not have to come back to my moms house after traffic school to help me load everything up. i just did it all on my own and took it to the goodwill donation center which was literally a half mile from my oms house. it was so convenient.
after that, i went to party city and bought some balloons and a card for my sister and then i put them in her room. Friday was her very last day of college. she is an official college graduate now! the first for that side of my family. what a cool thing!! so i got her a bouquet of flowers and a card and put it in her room. she was out of town so i thought it would be a fun surprise for her for when she came back (today).
today was church and our bishop had an open house where we could go and eat and visit with people from the ward. it was fun.
this week is going to be fun. i have a lot on my agenda and we need to get ready for another trip to Utah!! I'm excited.
here's what this week looks like... tomorrow my friend is coming over for lunch and a visit. Tuesday in the evening, we are going to look at Christmas lights and go for a drive. Wednesday i am going to dinner and the movies with my sister. going to see twilight with her (finally.... she has not seen it yet and i made her wait to see it with me) Thursday, nothing going on. Friday is a family day at Disneyland, Saturday is my moms family Christmas party, Sunday we're having my dad and step mom over to celebrate Christmas and open presents, Monday we're going to my moms for pizza and to open our presents with her and my sister. then Tuesday we leave for UTAH!! woooo hooo. busy busy!! in the mean time, i have to find time to finish my recipe books i am making, go to the post office and mail them out, pack, take thumper to the doctor for a check up, shop for some additional presents i need to get for family and wrap them. and make like 20 dozen cookies for my husband clients!!!! (no exaggeration. i literally need to make like 20 dozen cookies. maybe more.) lots of fun!!

Hey! I didn't know that the Bishop had an open house today! That's what I get for being in primary- no announcements are ever heard.
