we're back!

this weekend was nice. very relaxing and beautimous. I felt bad for mister studly, he wanted to go night snowboarding on Friday when we arrived. the plan was that we would leave as soon as he got off from work and then head out to the mountains. he would drop me and the kids off at the cabin and then he would do the night session of snowboarding (A LOT cheaper) then we would have all day Saturday to hang out as a family. well, traffic going there was horrible!!! it took us twice as long as it should have. once we got there, he had already missed three hours of the night session and so he was debating whether or not he should still go. he decided against it and we ended up going out to dinner instead. He was thinking about going on Saturday morning for a few hours, but it just wasn't in our budget and wasn't worth it if he could only go for a few hours. We ended up taking the kids to the discovery center and we let moma buy a cool purple rock that she wanted. we checked out all the weird stuffed (used to be alive) animals and she got to get a magnifying glass because we donated a bit of money to the center. she took that magnifying glass everywhere and inspected everything. we went back to the house, ate lunch and put the kids down for naps, then we headed out to the down town area and went window shopping. we met our friends k and j for dinner downtown (they live there and are the ones that got us a cool deal on the cabin) then we went back to their home and hung out for a bit before leaving to put the kids to bed. moma really hates the snow. it's funny. the whole way there she kept saying "i don't want to go in the snow. i don't want to be cold. i want to stay in the house". she was a little traumatized from our trip to Utah when we made her go sledding i guess.
so the cabin was adorable. it was a small little thing, but super cute. it worked perfectly for us. we put both kids in the bedroom for bed at 7:00 and then we stayed out in the living room on a mattress on the floor and watched TV and hung out. we wanted to kind of hang out today up there but the weather was sort of rainy and we wanted to get home before the traffic so we left at about 10:00. we really want to go again before the snow season ends so mister studly can get his snowboarding in that he missed. we had a great time. very relaxing and nice to just hang out with the family without any outside distractions. our cell phones didn't even get reception in the cabin so we were truly cut off from the world. it was nice. moma got to see a few squirrels and blue jays. she was pretty excited about that. anyways, we had a nice time. i left our house a total mess so coming home to that wasn't very fun. I'm not even going to deal with it today though. there's always tomorrow right?
