Today started off with a trip to the park for our wards play date. It was a fun day except, I feel really dumb because both me and Baby G got really bad sun burns. Moma was the lucky one. She spent a lot of the day in the shade so she's not nearly as bad. I feel awful about Baby G. I read up on little babies and sunburns and he didn't show any of the "bad" signs so I gave him some Tylenol, soaked his arms and face (only spots sunburned) with a cool-ish wash cloth and then put some aloe vera gel on him. I dressed him in short sleeved pj's tonight too. I hope he looks better tomorrow. As for me, My knees are so badly burned. It looks pretty ridiculous. After the park, I headed to the mall to get some last minute things for my "cousins" party tomorrow. She's turning 30 and we having a Twilight themed party for her. We're going to watch the movie and have some Italian food. It should be really fun. I'm looking forward to it. At the mall, we were in target and I stopped in an aisle to look at something and I hear something funny from the front of the double stroller so I ask Moma to repeat what she had just said so that I could be sure I had heard correctly. Sure enough she was saying "I order you to go! I order you to go!" She was talking to ME!!! Telling me to move because she didn't like just sitting there in the stroller while I was shopping. She wanted us to be moving. What a punk! I had to tell her that "we don't talk that way because it's rude" but underneath it all, I was dying with laughter. Where on earth did she hear that?? "I ORDER you to go!" Whatever!
After that, I had about an hour to kill before Moma's follow up visit for her incision. I decided that since I was right there next to the doctors office, that I would try and get in early. They accept walk in's so I was hoping it would work out for us. It did and we got in early. The doctor said everything looks good. She doesn't have to wear a bandage any more which makes me very happy since the tape was really chewing up her poor skin. It did that to me too so I know what it's like. After that, I went home and dropped the kids off really quick and then headed out to Sam's Club to get some food for tomorrow night. We're just having a simple dinner. I will post pictures of the party and everything probably on Sunday. I'm really hoping the cake turns out as I imagine in my head. I always get these wild ideas for things and then I can't duplicate it or find exactly what I'm looking for to create it. I did that with Moma's crib bedding. I wanted to make her crib bedding and I got this very specific fabric print in my head (that i had created using my imagination) so it took me a very long time to find something that would be comparable but I eventually found it and had that "THAT'S IT!!" moment. So about the cake... I'm really hoping it looks similar to what I am imagining in my head. We'll find out tomorrow as I attempt to make it. I'll take step by step photos so that you can either see my beautiful master piece or my horrible disgusting blob before it goes in the trash! I have a back up plan of course, so that's good.
Anyways, that's it for today. Just dreading going to sleep tonight since I know the sheets will irritate my poor knees. I was sitting Indian style (I don't think we're allowed to say that any more. Maybe it's "with my legs crossed") and so it's just burned on the inside of my knees only. I was wearing shorts. It looks really lame!
