On Saturday, I did a bunch of running around. I went to my moms house and she gave me a bunch of her old shorts and Capri pants which are perfect because I will be fitting into them shortly. I'm in the smallest size in my closet right now, so I was going to need to buy some new clothes but luckily she gave me a ton of them in various smaller sizes so I will have enough to last me for awhile. I went and visited with my family at the hospital. My cousin has been getting agitated with all the people visiting so we were very quiet while we were there. Talking in whispers and such. They have her in a coma, but she would get bad looks on her face and stuff when we were in there making too much noise. They decided not to do the spinal tap as it was too risky because of her brain swelling. They are doing this thing where they take out all her blood, clean it and put it back in. They will do this a couple times and then on Tuesday she will have brain surgery to remove a portion of her brain to do a biopsy. As of today, they are thinking it is A.D.E.M. or Acute Disseminated Encyiphimylitis but they do not know for sure until the brain biopsy. This disease can be brought on by an illness. If it is treated early, it has about a 5% mortality rate with a 50-70% rate for some type of disability. Recovery is anywhere from one to six months. The scary thing about this (if this is what it is) is that she was not properly treated at her first hospital where they are a bunch of idiots and so she was like this for two weeks and could have been getting the proper medicines. So we really don't know what the likeliness of her recovery would be if she has this because her case is not typical. Usually, a person experiencing what she has would go to the hospital much sooner and then have been given the proper care once there. Unfortunately she was not given the proper care so there is no way of telling how badly the disease has progressed. It's just a waiting game until Tuesdays surgery and the results come back. In the mean time, they are treating her for this A.D.E.M so at least if she does have it, they have a head start on the medicine. The chances of her coming out of this completely normal and back to her old self are not too likely which is sad. I really hope that is the case, but I am preparing for the worst just because of the lack of proper care she was given at the original hospital she was in. I'm pretty ticked off about all that. Basically what happened is, she has no insurance and so they didn't want to run expensive tests on her. They assumed is a was a stroke because of the paralysis and she sat there for two weeks in that hospital with them not wanting to run tests on her. The doctor there actually told my uncle to get her out of there so he did. I can't remember if i posted about that in my previous post. He said if it were his daughter, he would get her the heck out of there and to UCI. so that's what they did. Anyways, it's just really upsetting.
On another note, we somewhat finished our new deck this weekend. I just have to put some gunk in the cracks in the wood to make it more water proof and then go over it one last time with the wood stain and we're done. It looks great. It is three times bigger than our previous deck and it's going to be so great for the kids and just in time for summer! I am going to ask my mom to help me figure out what to do with the rest of the yard. It's a mess right now. I would like to put some rock in there and plant some nice things. On the way to a church activity the other day, we drove past a garage sale and found an AWESOME slide for the kids to go on our new deck. I was so excited about it. We paid fifteen bucks for it and it's in great shape. When we got home, we checked prices online and its a $159.00 slide! woooooo hoooo! what a great deal. Moma has been going crazy on it and can't stop talking about it. We set it up in the living room for the last couple days and she has been acting like a maniac playing on it. She even sets up little games for herself. Like she will put one of her toys at the bottom of the slide and grab it on the way down or put a stuffed animal up at the top so it can "watch" her go down. It's pretty funny. I told her we would invite some friends over to play on it once the back yard was all set up and now she's bugging me every five minutes if they can come over yet. it's seriously driving me insane!
Anyways, that's it for this weekend. We were very busy. We went to our cousins baby blessing today. It was a nice day. I really wish I could have taken a nap today. It was pretty gloomy outside. That's nap weather to me!!
Oh, one last thing. Moma is quite the little brat lately. I'm over it.
Earlier today, we were getting ready to leave and she started to walk upstairs. Here's how the conversation went.....
Me: Don't go upstairs, we're getting ready to go.
Moma: I'm going upstairs!
Me: You make a good choice and come back down here (she's half way up the stairs)
Moma: NO, I'm going to my room! (At the top of the stairs)
Me: Hey, you're not listening. We're leaving! Get back down here NOW and make a good choice!
Moma: No thank you.... (In her room now- At least she's using good manners)
Yeah.... total brat! Needless to say, there was a time out involved.

That's so funny. Jeremy's polite when he tells me no which makes it hard for me sometimes to explain to him that I'm glad he was polite but he still doesn't get to make all the choices.
She said no thank you what more do you want? haha aren't kids just precious. It's way sweeter than when my daughter is disobeying me. She just says "No, I'm not going to in a snotty voice." oh and she's 9!! Love cool deals on big toys! Can't wait to see photos of your new deck. I really pray your cousin recovers! Still in my prayers!
