Today was really nice. I made way too much rice and a batch of cookies for the memorial service today. I got there early to set up a table where everyone could write a little something on a stone and then after it dried, they could put it inside a glass vase. It was really nice and everyone put a little something on it. After a bit, we all went into the back yard and my cousin Bobby who is a minister, started with a prayer and then he read aloud a couple letters that people had written. My cousin Joey was able to read his own letter. He wasn't sure he would be able to do it, but he did great. He is her nephew and they were very close. I read my poem and I was able to get through it. I started to choke up, but I caught myself and did okay. Everyone had a very nice time under the circumstances. The hardest thing was seeing my Nana cry. I think today was the first time that it really hit her. Jill was basically my Nana's shopping buddy. She didn't want Nana driving anywhere alone so she would insist that she took her everywhere she needed to go. They had some fun shopping experiences and I know my Nana is going to miss those trips. My cousin Bobby said something that was just so perfect. He said that Jill was either for you or against you and that is so true. I was one of the lucky ones she was for. If she was against you, you had better WATCH OUT!! It was just all very nice. I don't think Jill realized how many people loved her. She was probably amazed today to see all those people there.
Anyways, this morning, I took the kids to get their pictures taken and boy did they turn out cute! I won't get them for a few weeks but I can't wait to have them. So fun!!
Tomorrow is Easter and we're staring off the day with finding the eggs the Easter Bunny hid and checking out our Easter baskets. Then we are off to church and then we have to leave early from church to get over to my Aunts house (step moms sisters house) for an egg hunt (for moma only) and a lunch. Then we're off to my moms house for and egg hunt and dinner! Can you believe that?? Three egg hunts in one day! Crazy!!! It should be a nice day.
