Well, I don't want to jinx anything, but I'll say it anyways... So far this week, we have cut out all of the allergic foods from Moma's diet. (Eggs, Wheat, Soy and Dairy) and I have already noticed a difference in her skin on her back!! Usually she has little bumps all over her back and shoulders and she even has scabs on there from where she itches so bad she breaks the skin. Last night I was rubbing cream on her back like I always do every night because of her itchy skin and it felt so smooth. I didn't expect to see results so fast after cutting those things out of her diet, but so far so good. She has snuck a few cheerios from her brother on occasion which contains wheat but she is doing pretty good about asking if she is allergic to something before she eats it. I've tried to make it fun for her. I went shopping and bought special "Moma" foods that are just for her so I get her excited about eating them. I found some Moma friendly snacks at Trader Joe's. The guy there was very helpful. He gave me a list that had everything on it that they carry that does not contain wheat. I found some bread made from rice flour so I can still make her PB&J's. It's expensive but luckily she will be the only one eating it so it should last us a little while. I'm also going to make it as well. I just need to find this stuff called xanthum gum. I think it's what helps the bread to stick together. It's pretty pricey so I'm trying to find it for cheaper. For a half pound little bag, it was almost 14 bucks!! Yikes!!! She'll be eating lots of rice products. I made spaghetti from rice noodles the other day and she loved it! I have to check all the labels on everything. Even things you would not think would have it in there. Like one brand of spaghetti sauce contained soy and one didn't. Same with peanut butter. One brand I had in the cupboard had soy in it and another one didn't. It's going to take a lot of work on my part but I'll figure it out. So far this week has gone good. She isn't feeling deprived too much. It is hard though when she asks for something that she used to eat like a granola bar or mac and cheese and I have to say "You're allergic to that." I feel so bad. I mean it's not like she's going to die if she eats something with those things in it, but if you knew what I go through every day with her itching her skin and crying because her skin is so bad, you would feel so sorry for her.
I'm glad that we have found out that she is allergic to these things though. It will help her to remove it from her system completely. It just makes more work for mom which stinks but I'll get the hang of it.

Trader Joe's has gluten free mac and cheese, I eat it all the time. Let me know if you want to chat about any of this - anything for you!
