Well, I'm posting again trying to make up for not posting for a while i guess. anyways, today, i was busy. i started the day with watering the back yard since it's so crazy hot here. it was in the 90's for the past couple of days. Poor moma has been sweating so much during her naps. So i told dadi that the rule is that if it's over 90 degrees, we're turning on the air conditioner. we're too cheap to use it very often, but when I'm practically melting, i think it's time to crank that sucker on!! it's funny when you have kids, you do so much for them. I could have probably dealt with the heat by myself. i would have been complaining that's for sure, but i would have just dealt with it. but when i see my kid sleeping in a pool of perspiration, i just have to turn it on. being in a two story house is hard for that reason. you want to be comfortable when you sleep, but heat rises so the upstairs is always so much hotter than the downstairs. i think i may have to camp out downstairs a few times this summer if it's going to be like this. i can't believe how hot it is. it's only may!! i can't imagine what summer is going to be like. good thing we have a pool in our complex. we'll be down there often! My dad is so funny.. i have to tell you what he did yesterday. his wife called him at work and said that they were closing down some of the roads so he better try and get home quick. there were fires all over the place yesterday and one of them was near his house. so he jumps in the car and heads home. he is on the home stretch and there is a ton of traffic and the cars just aren't going anywhere. he is trying to get over so that he can make a right hand turn but no cars are letting him over. finally, a women lets him over and he jumps in front of her just as a cop flips a u turn and starts flashing his lights and closes the road. my dad made it just in time but this poor women that was so kind to let my dad in is now completely stuck and my dad's on his way home. he felt really bad about the women being stuck but anyways, he is trying to get home and he's only got a few miles to go, but the road he needs to go on to get up to his house is now closed and they aren't letting any of the residents in. so he pulls into a parking lot and changes his clothes into his work out gear and he calls his wife and says for her to drive up the back way where the roads are open and pick him up. so he jogs like 3 miles or something in 95 degree weather, his wife picks him up and they end up having a nice evening together at home while the rest of his neighbors who didn't make it are either stuck on the roads or having to go shopping for 3 hours until they open them up again. also, my dad lives in the hills so he was jogging up the hills in order to meet his wife. on the way to their house, they saw a bunch of people walking up the hill trying to get to their homes, so they picked them up and gave them rides. they all had just abandoned their cars like my dad did. the fire didn't threaten their home, but the reason they had to close the roads was because of the helicopters dropping that fire stopping stuff. that would suck so bad to have to walk up those hills in that heat. i don't care what shape you're in. it would not be fun. i'm glad i live where it's flat!
so today i met my mom at the candy supply store and we bought some chocolates for me to make for my grandmas 90th birthday party. i'm making flower chocolate suckers with edible glitter on them. it should be fun to make. i also started pricing my jewelry today as well and i worked for the mortgage company this evening. i'm going to have a busy week this week so i better go and get some rest!
