SwapMeet Aftermath

Well, I had my very first day at the swap meet on Saturday. It was tiring but fun. I had a few visits from some friends and family. The day was slow so I didn't sell a whole lot. I did better than some of the vendors around me though so that made me feel a little better. Sorry for them, but happy for me. Some of the regular vendors that are there every week didn't even make enough to cover what they had spent in space rental fees. So they actually paid the swap meet to be there all day. At least I made a little bit of profit. Not much, but I'm just glad I didn't lose any money. A friend of mine said that some days are like that and others you just sell sell sell!! So, I'm going to give it a few more tries. Also, since the Fair is coming, I won't be able to sell there during the summer so I'm going to try another location. We'll see how that goes too. I'll keep you all posted to where I'll be and i hope that you'll come out and see me! The night before the swap meet, i practiced opening up my canopy all by myself. It was so hard to do. You have to have big muscles for it. I did it a couple times all by myself though. I kept taking it down and trying all over again since i needed to be good and ready for the morning. One time, i got my hand pinched in the corner and it hurt so bad!! I said a swear word. oops! It just slipped out. i couldn't get my hand out of the thing so i was just stuck there for a little while with my skin being pinched inside of it. It wasn't fun. i finally just had to pull my hand out and hope that my skin didn't stay inside the thing!! YUCK! It was a little swollen, but it made it out okay. Saturday morning, I woke up and headed out. I had packed everything the night before so i just had to take a shower and get ready and I was off. I got there and just asked a guy who had a similar canopy if he could help me really quick. he was nice and just popped it right up. he said that it gets easier as the thing stretches out. So I'm hoping that next time, i can just do it myself or hopefully another nice guy will be there to help me out! It didn't take too long to set everything up and I just hung out all day long talking with the vendors next to me. there was a Chinese couple next door selling Italian charms and she kept calling me "lady" It was funny. She would say, "hey lady! it's slow today!", "hey lady! today's no good!" her husband didn't speak any English so she had to help all the customers herself. her husband did all of the setting up and taking down and she just helped the customers. She had the easy part! All in all, it was a good day and i was just tired and sore when the day was over. I came home and took some heavy duty migraine medicine since i had a headache and it conked me out. Probably didn't help that i had been awake since 4:45 either. i stayed up for as late as possible and ended up falling asleep at about 9:30 on the couch. I never do that. i have to be in my bed in order to sleep in total darkness with no sound. I guess that's where moma gets it!! She won't sleep anywhere else except her bed or sometimes, the car, but she has to be super tired for that. At least she goes right to sleep once she hits the bed though. that's nice for me. There were so many babies at the swap meet yesterday and it made me want another one right now!! not going to happen for a little while though. oh, i quit working for the mortgage company on Friday. Basically what happened was that they requested more hours from me and wanted days where i would come in all day long so i would have to have gotten a babysitter. i really didn't want to do that so i came home and talked with dadi about it. we talked about how it was already getting harder with moma getting older and becoming a little rambunctious crazy kid. plus, i work in the evenings and so we don't get to see each other very often. in January, i didn't work at all for the mortgage company and dadi loved it. The house was clean and we were actually able to do stuff together instead of me going upstairs to work after moma goes to bed. it was nice for both of us. so he said for me to just quit and we would make it work. so i went in and spoke with them about it and they took it well. i figured they would since they both have 4 kids each!! they know what it's like to take care of a one year old and it only gets worse for the next few years. she's going to be two next year!! terrible two's. oh no!!
Anyways, that's what's been going on lately. sorry my posts are so long, but when I'm only posting once a week or so, i have a lot to talk about!! I'm a fast typer so the words just fly onto the screen!! hope you're having a great day!
