I've been pretty busy lately. We are just doing the final touches on the items for my grandma's 90th birthday. Today i met my mom at a store to pick out some flower centerpieces for the tables. They're pretty. I was going to buy myself a plant too, but the lady took a rude tone with me so i changed my mind and told her to forget it. it was kind of funny. i just didn't appreciate her "helpfulness". You know how that saying goes... "it's not what you say, but how you say it". She was trying to help me, but she made me feel like an idiot so i told her to shove it in a nice way. i didn't really tell her to shove it, i wasn't rude, i just said that i changed my mind and didn't want to buy anything anymore but i think she read between the lines.
Tomorrow, my sister is coming over and we're going to put together a poster with a bunch of my grandmas pictures of her on there. she is such a pretty lady. You wouldn't believe she's 90. When i think of a 90 year old, i think of some one that just sits and knits with a blanket draped over her shoulders. Not my grandma!!! she plays every game that starts with a "b" bunco, bingo, bowling. She still bowls 2 times a week. i sure hope i have as much energy as she does when i'm her age (if i make it) She's nuts! her garden is beautiful and she has all sorts of projects she's always working on. I'm looking forward to the party and i hope that it's a success. There's going to be about 50 people coming. It should be fun. Tomorrow, i just need to make the poster and i'm also making these wire things to hold pictures that we are going to stick in plants. kind of hard to explain in writing, but if you saw it, you would know what i'm talking about. Dadi has just been working a lot and practicing with his band. Don't see him too much or talk to him anymore, but whatever. he's busy. We're planning a trip to mammoth for an extended weekend at the end of july. My sister in law is going to take care of moma for us so we get to go all by ourselves. It should be fun. The last few times we've gone, we didn't get too much fishing in and when we did, the fish weren't biting. Hopefully we can catch some big ones. i still need to catch my big fish so that i can hang it next to dadi's 5 pound rainbow trout hanging in our living room. Except i would like mine to be at least 6 pounds so i can beat him!
Moma has been a little bit of a stinker lately but we had a good day today. she's starting to get mad when we won't let her have things. she always wants our keys and usually, i don't mind it, but when i'm trying to drive somewhere, it gets a little difficult. she gets mad and yells and cries. She's also getting two more molars so i think she's just feeling poopy anyway. She's done a couple fun things lately. She loves the board book i have "wheels on the bus" She brings the thing to me at least 10 times a day and wants me to read (sing) it to her. Of course, i do and i do the hand motions to go along with it. Well, she copied me on every single hand motion for the whole song!! It was so cute. I especially loved when the babies on the bus go wah wah wah. sooooo cute!! We've taught her to fold her arms when we pray and she has been doing that for a little while now, but yesterday, she kept her arms folded during the whole prayer (i peeked out of one eye) and then she said "amen" afterwards. it sounded like "a-ma" but good enough for us! Whenever i leave the house, i have to walk outside in my back yard to go into the garage and i always tell the dogs to "stay" so that they don't run into the garage while i'm backing the car out. Today she said "sssssssssta" after i said stay. She likes to drag out her s's.
That's about all that's been going on. My lesson on sunday is going to be on family history/genealogy. if any of you have any suggestions, that would be great. I like to use personal examples in all of my lessons, but my family history is shady so i don't have a lot to go on. My grandma doesn't even know her mothers name or anything about her and so on so it's been a little tough. every time i try to start working on my family history, i get frustrated because there are so many, what seem to be (so far) dead ends. Anyways, suggestions would be good.
Last night i went out for a young women's activity. We picked out fabric to make skirts. All the girls got to pick out their own fabric and next week, we're going to make skirts. It should be fun. I got a leopard print fabric. i always seem to go back to leopard print stuff. i won't like it for a couple years and then i'm back on it again. Moma's crib bedding has leopard print on it and i love it. Anyways, i think my skirt will be cute. i just hope it looks good on me. It stinks when you make something yourself and then it doesn't look good on you. It's not like going to the store and trying something on. much different and unless you sew clothes for yourself all the time, you don't really know what's going to look good on you just by looking at a pattern. when we're all done with the skirts, we're going to wear them to church the following sunday so i sure hope it turns out cute! i really don't want to look like a big dork at church. i like to save my dorkiness for when i'm at home or around my family. that's about it for today. hope every things going well in blogger world.
