Well, we went to Mammoth again this past weekend. we woke up early and headed out on
Saturday morning. We left so early and made such good time that we were out on the lake by 8:30 and we had already stopped at our favorite restaurant on the way and ate breakfast. So we started fishing but we didn't catch anything. Didn't even have a bite, so we headed back into town and got some lunch and then checked into our hotel. All three of us took a much needed nap. When we woke up, we headed back out to the lake for more fishing.

We fished for a little while and we actually caught some so we were happy. Next thing i knew,
Dadi said "oh, here come some bears!" so i scooped up
moma and grabbed the fish and headed up the hill towards the car. We got some good pictures of the bears. It was a mama and two cubs. they were really cute. They don't bug the people too much, but they will eat your fish that you've caught so i made sure to grab ours before heading up to the car. If they started coming towards me, i would have dropped the fish and booked it to the car. Luckily, they didn't come for the fish so we were able to take them home with us and give them to our friends to eat!

About 15 minutes after the bears left, they came back so we once again grabbed
moma and the fish and headed up the hill. We just watched them wonder around the shore of the lake. it was exciting but it's beginning to be a regular
occurrence for us to see bears when we're in mammoth. The last time we were there, i asked the guy at the boat rental place and he said that they used to have a "bear guy" that would keep them away from the people and town, but they fired him and now the bears are everywhere. i think he needs his job back!! We went fishing again on
Sunday morning and again, the mama and 2 cubs came up to us. They tried to get into our tackle box, but luckily, i had closed and locked it really quick as i saw them coming.

Here's
moma in her cute leopard jacket that her great aunt and uncle got her for her birthday. isn't she adorable? the weather was nice, but by the lake, it gets pretty chilly so both moma and i were in our heavy coats. dadi isn't a sissy like we are.

On the way back from the lake, we saw some people by the road feeding some horses so we pulled over. the lady was nice and gave us some carrots to feed the guys. they were really friendly and
moma loved them. i though she would be afraid but she wasn't. even when the horse put his nose on her back and snorted, she just
giggled.

This is the horse that snorted on her!

After the
horses, we went to the park and watched some people try to fly a kite and also took
moma on the swings and slide. She had fun.
It was a good trip. even though it was short, we still had a great time and we're glad we went. I'm glad that we caught some fish and that we got to see the bears.
Today is a hot one and i need to get some things done around the house, but i don't feel like doing anything right now because it's so darn hot. yuck! moma is taking her nap so if i want to get anything done, i better do it now. This morning we went for a walk, but it was already getting too hot so i only lasted for a half hour. then we came home and changed into our swim suits and i took moma swimming. it was nice to go in the water. She needs some more work on her swimming though. she has forgotten some of the things she's learned from swim lessons. I'll need to work with her more.
