The Weekend

Well, this weekend was eventful. Friday night i went to our friends house and watched their kids for them so they could go out on a date. we trade every Friday night. it was super easy and their 9 year old girl was in "super mommy mode" so she was doing all the work and cleaning and stuff. i kept asking her "did you get in trouble or something and you're trying to make up for it" she was running around the house picking up after all the other kids and she even did the dishes. of course when her parents got home, i told them that i was the one responsible for the clean house. just kidding. i made sure to give her props. anyways, Saturday morning, we took moma over to my moms house and then we headed out to the Los Angeles Temple to attend a sealing of a family that is in our ward. i was so happy to have been invited to attend. it was such an awesome experience. For my non LDS readers..... We believe that when you're married in the temple, you are together for time and eternity, not just "until death do you part" and that your children are also sealed to you for forever as well. When Greg and i were married, i had only been a member of the church for a few months so we just had a civil marriage and our bishop at the time married us. then, a few years later, we went through the temple and were sealed to each other for eternity. because moma was born after we were sealed, she was already sealed to us. In the case of the family that were sealed together on Saturday, they had already had kids, so their little girls were included in the ceremony. if you have any questions about any of this, you can always ask me. it was such an awesome day. very touching. after the temple ceremony, we went to lunch at this place down the street that is know for their awesome pastrami sandwich's. it was huge and dadi and i shared one. the line was super long and so we weren't able to sit with everyone that had gone to the temple with us and we kind of all split up. we actually ended up eating in the car with our friends, S & L. it was a fun day. On Sunday we went to church and i think my lesson went well. it was about living the Gospel daily. it was a good lesson to teach. moma has really gotten used to being in nursery and it has been so much fun for her and for us since we don't have to try and keep her happy and entertained for all of our meetings. when i went in to pick her up, she was popping bubbles that the teacher was blowing and when she saw me, i thought she would run over and be all happy to see me, but instead, she just told me "I pop-pop bubbles!!!" and continued to chase them around the room and pop them with her finger. she was all sweaty. it was cute. the nursery leader told me that she is a good sharer. that makes me so happy. usually only children are bad at sharing because they don't have to until another sibling comes along. i have been working with her on it though and i knew she was good sharing with me at home, but i wondered how she would be with other kids. it was very nice to hear that she is sharing outside of her home too. yeah!!
Last night, we were sitting on the couch watching TV and my brother in law that lives in Utah texted me to let us know that President Hinckley had died. I texted some of my friends to let them know too since i knew that the news would be slower getting to us in California than in Utah. Again, for my non LDS readers, President Hinckley was the president of our church but we also believe that he is a Prophet just like prophets that you would read about in the bible. we believe that there are still prophets and apostles today just as there where in the bible. we believe that Joseph Smith restored the true church and our church is organized the same way as when Jesus was on the Earth. We receive revelation from our Prophet and the passing of Gordon B. Hinckley is both a happy and sad occasion. It is happy because he now can return to live with his family and be reunited with his wife that passed away a few years ago. They were married for 67 years!! It is sad because he was a great man that did many things to expand our church and build temples across the world. he received recognition across the world for the churches humanitarian efforts among other things. he will be missed. Being a convert to the church. President Hinckley is the only Prophet that i have known and it will be interesting to see the transition into having a new Prophet. Every Prophet does great things for us and for this world and it's going to be so awesome to see President Monson in action! ha! he has always been dadi's favorite speaker. Again, if you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask. no pressure, i like to inform people of my beliefs because there is so much misconstrued information about us Mormons and it's because a lot of people just don't really know what we believe. Matt Lauer recently was interviewed by another news reporter and he was asked what was his greatest regret in all his years that he has been reporting news and such was. His answer was very cool. He said that his greatest regret was that he was reporting on the fundamentalist LDS church which has no affiliation to the LDS church and he did not separate the two. fundamentalists believe in polygamy and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not and has no affiliation to the fundamentalist church that he was reporting on. he said that was his biggest regret and that it was because he was uninformed and as a reporter, your number one priority is to be on top of your game and know exactly what you're reporting. i thought that was very cool.
Anyways, today we went to our music class. i can't remember if I've talked about that before, so i will tell you about it really quick. i signed moma and i up for a music class through our city where they sing songs and dance and play musical instruments. it's pretty fun, but you should definitely not go if you feel a headache coming on. it gets pretty loud with all the banging of drums and piano playing. the kids all take turns and it's very structured so it's not like the kids are running around like maniacs banging on every thing. but it can get loud so it's best to not go if you're having a headache. today, we sang songs and pretended to be a choo choo train and moma got to play the violin (a real one) and a piano, tambourine, rain stick thingy, bells, the triangle, drums, xylophone and some others that i can't think of right now. it's fun and the lady that teaches it is crazy so she's really fun to watch. sometimes with little kids you have to act all stupid and crazy for them to like you and she just goes way beyond that! it's funny. moma does like the class though so it's fun for us. it goes through February so we have a few more weeks.
my mother and father in law are coming on Friday to spend the weekend with us and then they are going up to J & M's house. I'm still not feeling good, so i have already warned them that i don't think the house is going to get too cleaned by the time they get here. i will make sure they have a clean bathroom and clean sheets to sleep on, but I'm not guaranteeing anything else. they may have to maneuver around some piles of clothes on the floor and toys. hopefully i can get it done before they get here. i have 5 days!! i have really been sick these past few days and yesterday i noticed that all my muscles in my chest and rib area are sore. I'm pretty sure it's because I've thrown up a lot more than normal these past few days. I'm so over barfing. when is it going to end!!!????

I love when they do bubbles in nursery. All of the kids just love them so much!
We switch babysitting with a family down the street! I just love it because we don't have to worry about paying a babysitter when we get home. We also don't have to worry that we are staying out too late! I love it! Hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm so impressed that you went to the sealing! I wanted to go so much but the trip in the car makes me so sick! You're a real trooper to go!
I'm happy for President Hinckley too because I know he really missed his wife. They were such companions and not just married people.
I hadn't thrown up in so long and then I gagged myself last night with the toothbrush and it was all over. I forgot how much it hurts. Hang in there! Nothin' but a baby is worth all this nonsense!
