Uncle Mo

Yesterday i got some news that my uncle isn't doing so hot. he is my moms oldest brother. he went into the hospital for back surgery on friday and the next morning he started having complications. He has been moved into the ICU. I went down last night to visit him with the rest of my family. He isn't expelling urine properly and his heart is beating rapidly, which my cousin who is a nurse says isn't good, but it's beating so that's better than if it were fluttering. he was having trouble breathing and so they moved him into the ICU yesterday evening. He was pretty drugged up when i saw him and was in and out of conciousness. When we left last night, he was in stable condition. As of this morning, he is still in stable condition but they are saying that he is having some problems with his blood. they are running some tests and they think he may even be bleeding internally but as of right now, we aren't sure. it's very scary. he also was having a hard time with the breathing tubes and things and started pulling them out last night so the nurses had to restrain him. it's so sad. i hope he is okay. i'm probably going to go back down there tonight for a visit. i know there isn't anything i can do and that he probably doesn't even realize i'm there with all the meds he is on, but i will feel better if i go down to see him.
anyways, that's what's been going on here the past couple of days. i didn't go to church today because moma was sick and i wasn't sure if my family was going to go back down to the hospital. i wanted to be available to go meet them there if they did. i called my friend "L" last night and she is subbing for my class today. her husband "S" is subbing for dadi's class too so he could stay home with us as well. we are getting ready to watch the super bowl and we've made some goodies for the day. i've already had way too much food today and my stomach isn't liking it. it's probably from eating too much, being pregnant and stress as well. my mother and father in law are here. they arrived on friday afternoon and they are leaving to J and M's house tomorrow. i will be sad to see them go, but i'm glad they were able to come and watch the super bowl with dadi. dadi and papa love football so it should be fun to watch them cheer. they are rooting for opposite teams today which should be interesting. dadi wants the giants to win and papa wants the patriots to win. dadi likes the patriots better, but if they win, then tom brady will win his fourth super bowl and tie joe montanas record and he is a huge joe montana fan. actually he doesn't mind so much if he ties the record, but he is still young and part of a really good team so his chances of beating joes record in the future would be greater if he won today and dadi does not want that to happen!
moma is sick and has been for the past couple of days. she has a bad cough and a fever and super runny nose (eeeewwww) last night she coughed so much. i felt so sorry for her. i went downstairs to get her some water but when i went in to her room with the water she had stopped her coughing and was already back to sleep. she was snorring. poor little thing. i hate it when she's sick. she's only been sick with a cold about 3 times and with the stomach flu twice in her life so i still feel like i'm learning a lot on how to deal with a sick kid and what i should do and stuff. her fever was a a little high yesterday so i gave her some tylenol and a cool bath. that brought it down quickly. she is a little bit grumpy but surprisingly still having fun playing with her toys. i think my mom is the one that got her sick and it only lasted a few days for her so i'm hoping it goes away soon.
anyways, that's the story for the last couple of days. i really hope my uncle is okay. it's so scary when some one is in ICU. it's hard to see him this way.
spell check isn't working right now and i know i mispelled a lot in this post. i'll have to go back to it later when it's working and fix it if i think about it.

I know, David's grandpa is in the hospital too. He looked so tiny and old when I saw him last night, but it was good to visit him anyway. And sometimes I think that we'll never get well cause there's so many colds and flus going around that it's just one big cycle! It's the saddest when the kiddies are sick though. I hate it when they can't breathe! L did a fantastic job today, especially with the girls being so rowdy!!!

Grant has a little cold too! Nothing like a runny nose! I can't wait until he can blow it himself! :-)

I hate it when my kids are sick and the only way they know how to express themselves is to be grumpy.
The Super Bowl was so good. We were rooting for the Giants!
