So this weekend was spent with all of us being super sick. moma started getting sick on Friday night. she's had a fever and we've been keeping it down with Tylenol. she's been pretty whiny over the past couple of days. we did get her into her big girl bed and she loved it. on Saturday morning i took her over to walmart to pick out a cool pillow case. i figured she would want a Dora the explorer one but they were all out and when she saw the Disney princess one she just had to have it. so i took her back home and dadi had completely disassembled the crib and put up her new bed in her room. once we got the pillowcase on the pillow, she was ready for her nap. i couldn't believe it. she went right down without and issues. we just had her crawl on her bed and get under the covers. she was saying "big girl bed" and "princess pillow". she also said "it's so nice!" that's her new favorite saying right now. everything is "so nice". so she lay down and slept for nearly 2 1/2 hours. which is a little bit less than her normal naps but i was just happy she went right down and didn't care that her crib was gone. at night, she again went right down without any problems. dadi and i were in shock. we always hear about parents that have to keep bringing their kids back into the bed again and again. she went down on her first try both times. the nap the next day was a little bit of a scare. about 15 minutes after we put her down she started calling for me so i thought that maybe this would be the time that she wouldn't go down and it would be a fight. i went in there and smelled a poopy diaper which is why she wasn't asleep. i took her down stairs and changed her and then we headed back up to her bed. she went right down and slept for her full nap. so far, she hasn't had any issues with the new bed. we are so lucky. i just hope it continues. i was so nervous because she only sleeps in her crib or port-a-crib and no where else. she has never been one of those kids that can pass out anywhere. she has to have everything just perfect. she loves to sleep though so i was counting on her love of sleep to work on our side and it did. it's so great!
So we called on Saturday and got subs for our classes for church on Sunday. we knew we were in no shape to go to church and since moma was just starting with her illness, we knew we shouldn't go and infect everyone else. this is a nasty cold! the coughing is getting so old. yesterday, my belly started hurting me a lot towards the afternoon. i had spent about 4 days straight coughing like a maniac. then last night after i put moma to bed for the night, i was walking down stairs to be with dadi when i noticed that my tummy was really hurting. when i went to feel it i noticed a bump. i had coughed so much that my hernia came out!! the doctor said if it happened i should push it back in. so first i showed dadi and then i started to push it back in.... well, it felt so weird (kind of like bubbles popping) that i almost fainted. it was so nasty. my eyes kind of rolled back in my head and i felt like i was going to throw up. it was so weird. dadi was just like "are you okay?" he could totally tell that i had amost lost it. i really hope that doesn't happen again. it was creepy!!
Anyways, that's our fun little adventure for the weekend. i hope you all had a better weekend than we did. i just want to get over this cold and back to myself again.

i'm so glad it was easy for moma! i've heard stories about it, but both my boys were easy too, especially alex. when he would wake up in the morning, he would still call for me, like he did when he was in the crib. he wouldn't get out until i went to get him. aiden was just as easy but he got out when he wanted. i think the pillow helped. i made sure to get stuff like that for mine during the transition.

Ew Cory. THat is so yucky. I hope it doesn't happen again! I hope you are feeling better. I hated being sick when I was pregnant. And trying to take care of a 2 year old at the same time doesn't help.
