Moma's Birthday Weekend

I talked about this in the previous post, but since I'm now posting pictures to go along with it, I'm going to repeat myself for the first part of the post. We woke up friday morning (moma's birthday) and brought her down stairs so that she could see her new fishies!! she was very excited. We just got her a little tank and a couple of goldfish. I was going to get a fish bowl. but thanks to my friend "b" i found out that i could find a pretty cheap tank with a filter. So i picked it up at petsmart and it only cost me $3.00 more than the fishbowl would have cost. it was on sale. Moma loves her fish and has to say good morning to them every day.
We headed over to the donut store to pick up a donut for her birthday breakfast. Last year we got her a donut as well on her birthday so i guess it will be a tradition for us. the customers in the donut store thought it was a little strange when i was taking this picture and gave me funny looks so i felt the need to share with them that my little girl turned two that day and we normally don't take pictures at the donut store. then they were all excited and wished her a happy birthday and told her to enjoy her donut. As you can see by this picture moma has mastered the... "i think i know how to smile" look.

Friday afternoon we headed over to Check "e" cheese's and met up with my dad and step mom. we just had pizza and soda's and played tons of games. At one point, moma was holding onto the cup full of tokens and just started pumping them into the ski ball machine. i was slow to reach her and take the tokens away so i ended up playing three ski ball games since she had managed to put in three coins. she loved this racing game in the picture above and though she didn't actually play it, she still had fun pretending she was driving. Later a man went and sat down at the game and she became agitated because she thought that he was sitting in HER seat. we all laughed.

Here's a picture of my dad (papa-v) and my step mom (sha-sha). they had a lot of fun with her and kept her occupied so that i didn't have to. they were pooped by the time they left.

Saturday morning we woke up and went to the swap meet to get a dresser for the babies room. we have been going garage sailing lately looking for one but couldn't find one that we loved. so we decided to go to the swap meet and buy a brand new one. we had seen them there before for $125.00 so on our way we decided to stop by any garage sales we spotted just in case. we went to one and they had a ton of furniture! it was brand new furniture because the guy selling the stuff had a family member that owned a furniture store and gave him the store models to sell at his garage sale. i really liked this white one and thought it would go perfect in moma's room and that we could move her dresser to the babies room but he wanted 200 bucks for it. long story short.... we came back later, dadi offered him $140.00 for it and the guy accepted. i love this dresser. it's so much nicer than the one we were going to get at the swap meet and it only cost us $15.00 extra. it matches moma's room perfectly and we're so happy about that. isn't it just lovely?

On Saturday afternoon, after moma woke up from her nap, we went to my moms house for a barbecue and to celebrate moma's birthday again. first we stopped by Von's to get some chip and dip. i just went in really quick and dadi stayed in the car with the kid. well, about half way through the store, my flip flop broke and so i had to scoot through the rest of my shopping with my foot flat on the ground holding my broken flip flop in place. i looked like an idiot. not only do i totally have the pregnant lady waddle happening, but i was also hurting a lot that day in my back and tummy so i was walking extra gimpish. to have my flip flop break was just the last straw. anyways, we headed to my moms house and my mom's boyfriend bought moma a swimming pool. she had so much fun in it. i think she had her bathing suit on all day long and just kept going in and out of the pool and up and down the slide. it was a great day for that since it was 97 degrees or something like that. crazy!

Here's dadi helping her down the slide. she had a blast except when she decided to run into the house with wet feet and went flying flat on her face on the tile. that part wasn't too fun for her, but the rest of the day was a blast!

My mom made her a 3 layer chocolate cake. actually it was a white cake with chocolate frosting. it was slowly melting all day long but held up in the heat pretty well. it was inside the house but the temperature inside the house read 88 degrees and cakes with yummy chocolate frosting don't hold up too well in 88 degree weather. after we dug in to it and had a couple of pieces, it fell over.
We had such a nice weekend. i think i started having braxton hicks contractions though. my tummy would get really tight and kind of uncomfortable and then it would go away. i never had them with moma so it was a weird feeling. i have had them every day since then so I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Sunday we went to church and moma had a nice time in nursery. she doesn't even care any more when we drop her off. she just goes right in and starts playing. she doesn't even give a little peep to us. she loves her friends. it's so nice.
Oh..... so we show up to church on Sunday and there are no speakers at all. so during the ward business they announce that they will be calling on people from the congregation to come up and speak. when i hear this, i turn to dadi and tell him how this same thing just happened to our cousin except his name was on the program and no one ever told him he was speaking or gave him a topic. some one dropped the ball big time on that. so we laugh about it and just start hoping that it isn't either of us that gets called to go up and speak. sure enough, dadi's name gets called out and he has to get up there and speak for a few minutes. he was nervous but he did a great job. actually everyone that was called on did a great job. i kept telling dadi that i was going to go and hide in the bathroom so they wouldn't call on me. luckily they didn't and i was very thankful. i would hate to be put on the spot like that.
tonight we have tickets to the angel game. we're going with our friends "s" and "l" from church and my mom's watching moma. I'm excited. i love going to the angel games even though our seats are super high up and i have to walk five thousand miles. it's so hard with this big old belly and my hernia. the seats are actually really nice. they are behind home plate but just high up on the view level. luckily they have escalators!!

She is getting so big. Having that pool was perfect for this past weekends heat!

So much fun! And you're such a trooper; I sent David to the Angels game with other people.
