Father's Day

Today is fathers day. it started out with me waking up at 6:45 so that i could get showered and ready and give moma a bath. After that, i started preparing the breakfast for everyone that was to come over. it worked out perfectly. i am a list maniac, so the night before i made a list and a time schedule so that i could be sure to prepare everything in time for our guests. I have a knack for getting everything on the table at once so it's hot and perfect. I'm not trying to brag, but it is something that i am good at so i guess i am bragging a little bit. i DO NOT like cold food so i try very hard to time everything perfectly. obviously sometimes, this doesn't work out, but most of the time i am able to serve piping hot food. here's what we had...
Awesome french toast made from french bread. it tastes like a cinnamon roll and is super yummy, scrambled eggs, bacon, orange and apple juice and milk, and fruit salad which included... cantaloupe, bananas, blue berries, grapes, and strawberries. everyone was there on time and we had a nice breakfast as a family. Marc, Ari and Ryder came and so did my dad and his wife. moma was in a pretty good mood and played nicely with Ryder. after breakfast, we just visited for a little while. dadi showed off his new motorcycle to my dad. oh... side note.... grandparents/parents are so funny. the first thing my dad says is "be careful!!" first off, it's just something that you have to say when a loved one gets a motorcycle, so i completely understand it, but i also couldn't help but tease my dad a little bit for saying it considering he had a motorcycle when i was younger and used to let me DRIVE it when i was like 9 years old. i would sit in front and steer while he held on to me on the back. One day when i was about 11 or 12, we were driving to the baseball field to throw the ball around. my dad put the bag of baseballs in my lap (while i steered the motorcycle), well, my turning range wasn't too good because my elbows would hit the bag, so at one point i lost control of the bike and crashed it into the curb. my dad had to take me around the waist and throw me up onto the side walk so that the bike wouldn't fall on my legs and burn or hurt me. this was way before helmet laws were in place as well. anyways, we walked away from the accident and didn't really have any injuries. the knee on my pants ripped, but that was it. so i just found it funny that the "be careful" was coming from my dad. i would never dream of doing anything like that with one of our kids!! nuts! but i do have to say that i have fun memories of the motorcycle and i thought i was pretty cool when i would get to ride it or steer the thing and give it gas. and i also have to say that my dad did sell it within about a year of that unfortunate accident. okay... so back to fathers day. my dad and Shelli left at about 11:00 and so we stayed home from church so we could visit with Marc and Ari before they left. they were only here for a short time and they had a lot on their agenda so we weren't able to hang out with them as much as we would have liked. they left in the afternoon and went to do one last fun thing before they drove back to Utah this evening. i took a little nap while moma napped and then we just spent the rest of the day hanging out not doing much. at about 4:00, some one knocked on our door. i opened it up and there were two missionaries standing there. they started with their spiel and said "hi, we're missionaries with the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints." and i said "hi! we're members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints" it was funny. they serve in the Spanish ward so they weren't our regular sister missionaries that are in our ward. they left and then dadi said that i should have messed with them since they didn't know we were members. oh man that would have been so funny. i could have been like "so, don't you all get like 15 wives when you get done with your missions?" or "tell me about those women in your church. aren't they all ugly and don't wear any make-up?" that would have been so funny. dadi is so much quicker to think of stuff than i am. i thought i was being so clever with my little come back to their introduction. it would have been much funnier to have had them going for a little while to mess with them. we're so mean!! i love it! i think they would have guessed eventually since right behind me on the wall where you come in our front door is theproclamation to the world. so unless they were totally oblivious, they would have figured it out. okay so that's it for today. we had a nice fathers day. oh, one last thing and i will post pictures of this tomorrow...... my mom gave us these blow up guitars from the shower decorations and we gave them to moma to play with. well, yesterday she started " playing" the guitar and it's so freakin' hilarious. she closes her eyes and gets this "rockin' out" face on her. then she pretends to play the guitar and makes "whaa wooow wooow" sounds as she plays. it's so funny. i took some pictures of her doing it this morning before everyone got here for breakfast. i don't know where she learned that. i asked dadi and he says that he didn't teach her. so she must have seen it on TV or something. it's so cute. if i can get her to do it on video, i will send it to America's funniest videos. she gets a little shy though so I'll have to catch her in a good mood. it's so funny. kids are great. they're so entertaining!!!
poll results... most of you think i will have the baby in 5 weeks but since this poll was started a week ago, you actually mean 4 weeks. i sure hope you're right. i really don't want to be induced. i would rather do it naturally. at the same time, i don't want a huge kid so as soon as the doctor says we can induce, i'm going for it! vote in the next poll..... moma was 10 1/2 pounds.
