Fun Fact Friday

Did you know that a hippo can open it's mouth wide enough for a four foot child to fit inside? No? neither did I. Interesting.....

Okay so today started out with me cleaning my carpet in my living room. I have a bissel steam cleaner that is pretty heavy duty except i lent it to my mom like 8 years ago and so she just keeps it at her house and then i "borrow" it when i need it. the living room carpet is pretty bad compared to the rest of the house which still looks brand new. we have lived here for 18 months now and the living room is where all the traffic and spilled stuff ends up. So there were a lot of spots. it was pretty hard for me to push that big old steam cleaner around but i did it and now the carpet looks pretty good. there were some spots that i could not get up though. i left a tube of desitin on the floor after a diaper change a few weeks ago and moma stepped on it and squirted a big glop on the carpet and then took a few steps in it before i could get to her and get it cleaned up. so there are three pretty big greasy desitin stains on the carpet that aren't coming up. After that, we got ready and went to our cousins house for a fun day in the pool. my cousin "k" bought to a new house about 9 months ago and they have the coolest amenities in her complex. one of which is a toddler pool. it is only 1 1/2 feet deep and so the kids got to play and splash around for a couple of hours while us girls chit chatted. it was a lot of fun. moma had a great time and couldn't wait to tell her dadi about swimming with her cousin. after that, we went home and i put moma down for a nap. i had major braxton hicks contractions today. probably like 20 of them in all. it was not very fun and i think they were caused from me pushing around that heavy steam cleaner first thing this morning. i had to get out my what to expect when you're expecting book to make sure that i wasn't in real labor. sometimes you forget what it's like and have to be reassured by the book. at about 8:00 pm, dadi's brother marc and his wife ari and son ryder came to see us. they are in town for the weekend and they stopped by for a visit when they got in. ryder had been couped up in a car all day and really needed to burn off some energy. we decided that it would be okay to wake moma up who had already been put down for the night so the two of them could play. luckily she was super excited to see everyone and had a pretty good attitude for the couple of hours they were here. she went right back to sleep with no problems after they left. tomorrow they will be going to Disneyland for the day and then we might go to the beach in the evening with them but we have no set plans yet because it all depends on how my long i am over at my moms house after the baby shower tomorrow and how long they end up staying at Disneyland. so tomorrow is my shower and I'm pretty excited. i will get to my moms house at noon and then the shower starts at 1:00. i have to do some laundry in the morning and then go to the grocery store to shop for the fathers day breakfast i am making Sunday morning. i also need to pick a picture frame for dadi and my dad. i had wal-mart print out 5x7's of cute pictures. one is of dadi and moma and one of my dad, his wife and moma so i need to pick up some cute frames and some gift bags to put them in. my dad is coming over on Sunday morning and we are going to have a nice breakfast before church. we actually might not make it to church this week since marc and ari are going to be leaving on Sunday in the afternoon. depending on what their plans are, we may just want to visit with them since we don't get to see them very often. anyways, this weekend should be a fun one.
