Monday and Tuesday

So yesterday i had my doctors appointment. read previous post for info on that. then when i got home, dadi took moma to the park. the plan was that we were all going to go to the park as a family but at the last minute i asked if he wouldn't mind taking her by himself so that i could start working on cutting out the fabric for the crib bedding. i haven't done anything yet except purchase the fabric and fillings, so i needed to get SOMETHING accomplished on it. it's hard because i can't really work on it when moma is awake because she will be into everything and drive me nuts and i can't really do it while she is asleep because i don't think she would sleep through the noise that my sewing machine makes. so i kind of need her to be gone or really extra preoccupied for me to work on it. so while they were feeding the ducks at the park and stuff, i was busy cutting the fabric for all the bumpers, ties, quilt and valance. i got everything cut last night except i forgot to cut out four of the ties. i guess i counted wrong but that's easy to fix. so i cut everything out and then since i was in the mood, i decided to sew a little bit. dadi got home and did a good job of keeping moma busy so i got to work on it for a total of 3 1/2 hours. i sewed all of the ties and i turned them inside out while watching TV that evening. i didn't get them all done, but i think i got about 10 of them turned right side out. i also put together the entire front side of the quilt. i didn't quite match up all of the corners of the squares perfectly but i don't really care at this point and it's not too noticeable. i am a lazy seamstress. i like to just fly through everything. that's why i can't sew when moma is sleeping because i push the pedal down to it's max and the thing gets super loud because it's working so hard. i love to sew, but i have no patience for making things perfect so if the little mistakes i make aren't too noticeable, i just say "yahoo!!" and move on to the next thing. the quilt was a little bit hard to do because one of my fabrics is soft and stretchy and the other isn't. so it was a little bit hard to keep everything in place. oh, another thing is that i hate to pin so if I'm just sewing straight lines, i won't pin it either. i just be sure to hold it tightly and hope that it all works out. I'm so crazy!! so now all i have to do is sew the edges to the quilt (i am making all the edges out of the soft fabric so i have to cut long strips and sew them to the edges) then i have to put the back on it and tie it. then i have to finish turning the ties of the quilt inside out and then make the bumpers and I'm all done. I'm hoping to have it done by the baby shower my mom and sister and having for me on the 14th so that i can put it out and show every one. it's so fun!! last night we watched a movie called fly boys that we rented through netflix. it was so good. i never had heard of it before, but dadi had. it's about world war one pilots. it's about Americans that go to France to learn to fly airplanes and be in the war since the U.S. hadn't entered the war yet. it's based on a true story so it was very interesting. at one point, this guy falls out of his plane and i said "oh, he better open his parachute" and dadi was like "mama- they just invented planes a few years before this. they don't have any parachutes!!" i was like DUH!! it's just another pregnant moment. if i had just thought about that for a bit longer before i said it i would have remembered that. my brain is super slow right now.
today my sister came over and we went to Disneyland. we haven't been able to go for awhile because i have weight lifting restrictions so i can't take moma by myself. usually by the time dadi gets home from work, my body is aching so it's been hard to go in the afternoons as well. my sister just got a pass and is only taking one class this summer so we went and she helped me with moma and stuff. i was okay for the first half of our trip, but then i started feeling pretty achy. i also had 4 braxton hicks contractions while we were there which wasn't too fun. i had to take a break and sit down until they passed. usually i have about 1 or 2 per day so to have four in a couple of hours was a little weird. i guess my body didn't like all the walking i was doing. oh, so a few funny things from our trip today....
#1- we went in the elevator to get from the parking garage to the tram. there were about 5 adults in there with strollers and some little ones. we got to the bottom and the first lady jumps out, but she doesn't hold the door for us and the thing closes super fast. we all start pushing buttons to try and get the thing to open but it was already taking us up up up. so we had to ride the elevator up and down again and this time we made sure to hold the door open for everyone to get out. it was crazy. the elevator was our first ride of the day!!
#2- we went on pirates and moma got scared. usually she does really well, but it's been so long since we've been there and she's grown up a little bit so she knows that it's not a kiddie ride. she put her hands over her eyes after the second drop and then peaked out of her fingers. it was so cute. she stayed like that for the first five minutes of the ride until you get to the singing part of it then she realized that it wasn't so bad.
#3- moma hates the characters. she likes them from a distance but gets freaked out when you try and take her close. so this time she was all excited and saying she wanted to see Eeyore. so i was kind of excited too because she never goes within ten feet of those guys. i took her up to him and she said she wanted to hug him. i was thinking "wow!! this is amazing" but as soon as we took two steps closer to go and give him a hug she turned the other way and bolted. maybe next time??
#4- on pirates and at the petting zoo area they have donkeys (a live one at the petting zoo and fake motorized ones on pirates). i was telling her all about the donkeys. i don't think I've taught her what a donkey is yet. anyways, so later in the day when she saw the carousel she said "auntie- c'mon ride the donkey's!!" and i started cracking up. i guess she thought that a horse was a donkey now since they look alike. it was funny. i told her that those were horse's and she said "go on horse's!!" so auntie took her over there and they waited in line. then when auntie put her on the ride, moma decided that she didn't like the horse she had put her on, so auntie scrambled to find another one but moma didn't like that one either. eventually, they just had to get off the ride because moma wouldn't sit on any of the horses that auntie tried. she's crazy!
#5- we were walking out of pirates when i saw this girl that had A TON!!! of make up on. she was beautiful but had way too much make up on her face. just when i am looking at her make-up (not really zoning in on her actual face), my sister says "oh my gosh. that was spencer and heidi from the hills!" as soon as she says this, it clicks with me and i'm like "oh yeah... man she had a ton of make up on!" and my sister was like "yeah she did!!" if you don't know who they are, they're on a "reality" show called "the hills" on MTV. i don't watch the show but i have caught a few minutes of it here and there. i mostly know them because they're always being made fun of on the show "the soup" on E! and on the covers of tabloids and stuff.

I think those are all the funny things that happened today. i was super tired and my back was getting pretty bad so we left a little bit earlier than i would have liked but only by about a half hour so it wasn't too bad. then we came home and took naps. the gardeners were here and so i had a hard time sleeping. I'm still tired. also, I've been so dang hot lately too. it's just because I'm pregnant, but it's not fun. dadi comes home and shuts all the windows because he is freezing. then i go and open them all back up again and make him put a blanket on!! i'm so mean, but i deserve to be as comfortable as possible right now right?

if you go to people .com and look at the star tracks pics from yesterday, there is a pic of spencer and heidi at disneyland. I don't know why I watch that show, but i don't like those two.
