Tuesday

Not much went on today. Moma didn't sleep well last night. she has been having some rough nights around here. i think it's a mixture of her hearing me get up fifty times a night to pee, her molars coming in, and when she can't find the tag on her blanket. this is really annoying and i can't remember if I've posted about it yet. for the past 2 months, moma has been waking up crying because she can't find the tag on her blanket. she holds onto the tag of the blanket while she sleeps. it gives her comfort like a blankie or a stuffed animal or pacifier. the problem is that the tag is about an inch square so she can't locate it on her blanket in the dark if she wakes up in the middle of the night. she will get frustrated and cry. no other taggie blanket will do. she has to have her pink blanket with the one little tag on it. believe me, I've tried to substitute it for other tags, but they don't work. i have put two of the same kind of blanket in there, but she only likes the old one. i have put in taggie blankets (blankets with tags all over them) but that didn't work either. I'm not ready to take her blanket away or cut off the tag because i think she is still too young and wouldn't understand why. she just turned two and i don't want to have her go through that drama right now especially with a new baby coming. so I'm not sure what to do. plus, it only happens every once and awhile. it seems like she will be fine for a couple of weeks and then have one bad night where she will wake up a few times and can't find the tag. then i go in there and give it to her. i have tried to let her cry it out and find the tag on her own, but it hasn't worked so far. she just gets up out of bed and stands at the door freaking out. when i go in to give it to her, she is all sweaty from her freak out. so today we bought a nightlight. we will see if that helps her to be able to see in her room better and locate the tag. i wish she liked a stuffed animal or just the balnket or something. it's so annoying that she only likes this small little piece of fabric. sometimes i can't even find it so i know it must be frustrating for her. i was talking to my mom today and she said that i was the same way but with a teddy bear. i used to have to sleep with a teddy bear but the funny part of it was that the teddy bear had a silky ribbon around it's neck and that's what i used to have to hold onto. so i guess she got it from me. we're weird.
so today i was super tired because i probably only got about 3 or 4 hours of sleep last night in all. plus my pelvis was hurting from my incident yesterday. so i just took it easy. i tried to take a nap when moma went down but of course the stupid gardeners were here and had to work right outside my house during the time i was trying to take a nap. i had the windows open because I'm always so hot now and i could smell the gas from the weed whackers and mowers they were using. it was making me sick. so i probably only got in about a half hour of napping today. i did do a little bit of sewing but not much. i ironed all the ties for the bumper pads (all twenty four of them) and then put together and sewed one of the bumper pads. i figured i would try and do one bumper pad per day for the rest of the week and then i would be done with those and just need to put the backing on the quilt. of course this means leaving my sewing machine out all the time since i don't want to have to keep putting it away and taking it out again but i don't care right now. my priority is getting the babies room done and not having a clean kitchen table. i just slide everything over when it's time to eat.
that's it for today. not much going on tomorrow either. Thursday thru Sunday will be busy though. oh, one last thing. my mom called today and said that she is just going to order food from soup plantation for my shower on saturday. i'm very excited. i guess it comes with 4 types of salads including pasta salad, baked potatoes, muffins and cookies and some other stuff. that sounds so good to me. i love soup plantation!!
