Vacation

Well, Thanksgiving was great. I will need to post pictures. i woke up at 7 and put in my first pie, then i fed the kids and myself, then put in another pie. hen took a shower. then i started making the cake. then took out the pie and put the cake in, made the cookies, took out the cake and put the cookies in. then i started baking the rolls. in between that, my mother in law made the stuffing. i made a rub for the turkey and put it in the oven. i finished making the rolls and set them aside to rise. i peeled the potatoes and started making my fresh cranberry sauce. then i put the potatoes on and threw together the green bean casserole and the remaining stuffing (that did not go inside the turkey). i threw the stuffing and the green beans in the oven and made the salad. then i took out the turkey and put in the rolls while my mother in law whisked the gravy. if any of you think gravy is bland, try putting half a packet of liptons onion soup/dip mix in it while mixing in the flour. it's so yummy and gives the gravy a nice flavor. the rolls turned out good and i was so glad that i made them. my brother and sister in law went to her families house and the next morning, they ate the rolls and my brother in law thought they were store bought. he didn't believe my sister in law when she told him i had made them. he had to confirm it with me. that made me feel good. i did think they were a little salty and so next time i make them (Christmas) i will not use salted butter. we had 12 people for thanksgiving including thumper but only 11 eaters. everything turned out well and i was so glad i was able to make the whole meal for every one (except for the stuffing) i want to do it again. i literally cooked from 7 in the morning until 2:30 in the afternoon. i didn't stop. it was so fun. i really like to cook. that is as long as some one is watching my kids for me.
on Wednesday night before thanksgiving, mister studly and i had a date night. we saw the movie four Christmases. it was cute but it would have been more worth if as a rental. i wanted to see if because i thought the previews showed my life. you know... skipping around all over town visiting relatives on the holidays. eating at every place until you feel like you're going to barf and spending more time driving to the next place than actually staying at that place. i finally put my foot down to that a couple of years ago. no more rushing here and there. one year on Christmas eve and Christmas day we went to 9 different Christmases!! yes 9!! that's what happens when you have so many different families to see. sheesh!
on Friday we went shopping but not like a bunch of crazy people at 5:00 a.m. i didn't go until the evening. we wanted to get all of our shopping for each other done while we're here since we're coming back up for Christmas. we didn't want to have to load the car with all that stuff. so i finished. i'm pretty happy with myself. i made out really well and spent a heck of a lot less money than i thought i would. i loaded up my cart and thought that i had for sure gone over the budget, but i ended up having almost 50 bucks left over! wooo hoooo!!! i will admit that thumper isn't really getting much. i did get him a couple age appropriate toys that are "boyish" but other than that he's getting an outfit, some baby cereal and snacks and some new sippy cups since he'll be using those soon. i figure that all the grandparents are going to get him "cool" stuff so mom and dad can get him "practical" stuff. then I'll wrap it and let moma open it for him. that will be fun for her.
tonight, we went to fudruckers for dinner and met up with mister studly's aunt and uncle. it was fun. i always think of my nana when i go there because she always called it.... rud&%*$#@'s. i think you can guess that one. my nana has a super potty mouth and it's no wonder i had such a hard time with my mouth when i first met mister studly. anyway... i think i have posted about this before, but we like to pay our nieces and nephews money to eat strange things. so tonight we got my nephew "b" who is 16 to eat a huge fist full of jalapenos. it seriously was the size of a soft ball! he ate them all for only $4.00!!! he's a stud. he felt like he was going to throw up after wards and his face was bright red and he was sweating profusely. then a few minutes after ward, it really kicked in and he started really sweating. nothing he did helped the pain to go away. mister studly said that he wanted details about tomorrow when his"butthole was burning while he pooped them out" I'm sure he's going to be hurting tomorrow. it was very fun to watch though. then my other nephew put a ton of Tabasco sauce in his soda and drank it. he did that one for only a buck. he was totally gagging. it was great. on the way home, they pulled up to our car on the road and had us roll down the window. mister studly's brother said he was going to kill mister studly because the boys were farting so badly that he wanted to puke. they had to drive with the windows down in 40 degree weather. so dang funny!!!
okay that's it. we're going to the movies again tonight. it should be fun. it's a dollar movie.
