I didn't take a picture this week, but i still wanted to share my grocery savings with everyone. i bought 107.00 in groceries for 47.00. I bought a lot of stuff (mister studly was with me and threw some non sale items in the cart.... shame on him!). i got a family pack of chicken breasts for only $4.56. it was originally 15.00!!! i got 2 cartons of sour cream for absolutely FREE!! and i could have gotten dog food for free too, but i couldn't think of any one to give the dog food to. i just thought of some people so maybe i will go back today and get it if i feel like it. i got ground beef for buy one get one free, some rice, potato pancake mix (to go with my free sour cream... yum), sugar, etc. i bought a lot of stuff. i had mister studly with me so he got to see me in my coupon savings mode. i think he was impressed. oh.... a really good deal that i got..... you know those Pillsbury frozen dinner rolls? they come in a big bag of like 12 rolls (or something like that) they are in the freezer section. well. i think mister studly was the most impressed with my savings on these rolls. they are normally $5.19 for one bag. they were on sale for $1.99 and i had a coupon for 50 cents off which was doubled, so it ended up being $1.00 off. so i got them for only 99 cents!! i had two coupons for this so i ended up getting two packages for 99 cents each!! that's pretty good right?
i really need to get a freezer for the garage. we have been talking about it but just need to make the decision to go and pick one up. my freezer is stocked right now to the max and i was really bummed because if we had a freezer in the garage, i could have really stocked up on that chicken since it was such a good deal.
okay and now my grocery game plug again.... i really think you all should sign up. if you do, please remember to put in my email address so that i get credit (if you sign people up yourself, you get free weeks) if you would like a quick tutorial, please let me know and you can come over and i can show you what you need to do. it's so easy. i literally spend 20 minutes a week getting my coupons together. i have a really easy system and i don't cut out like 5 million coupons each week. i wait to get my list from the grocery game and then go and pull those coupons only and cut them out. it's all in my system. i don't use the advice from the grocery game website about cutting out all your coupons each week. my system is much faster so if you sign up... please call me and i will show you how to do it the easy way. I'm so into saving money right now. it's so fun!! i love coming on here each week that i shop and tell you all how much i saved and all the good deals i got. it's really helping me to save a lot of money right now and get my food storage going. i know a lot of women don't like to coupon shop because it takes so much time, but I'm telling you... my system and the grocery game website have been life savers. I'm not exaggerating when i say i only spend 20 minutes a week on coupons. it's so easy. there's no going through the ads each week, etc. it's super easy!! and it's nationwide so if you live in another state and read this blog, you can still sign up. it's easy. don't miss out!!! email me or leave a comment if you want to sign up. it's really worth it!!
NOTE: spell check is freaking out so I'm sorry if there is anything weird or misspelled in this post.

What exactly is the grocery store game? I've heard of people talking about all the money they save. I would love to save a little money on food more than $0.50 here and $1.00 there from my occasional coupon. Oh ya I don't think any of the grocer stores around here double coupon. I'd be greatful for any advice or ideas.
Bethany- The website address is www.thegrocerygame.com. this woman started it to help people coupon shop. the company goes through the ads each week (for the local store you tell them you shop at) and tells you which items are on sale and when to use your coupons. everything is color coded. the green items are free. you just have to pay sales tax, the blue items are at rock bottom prices which means you should stock up on them even if you don't need them right then. the black items are a good deal, but not rock bottom prices so you should only buy them if you need them. then, she tells you what day the coupon came out and what insert it came in. there are usually two inserts in the sunday paper. one is called red plum and one is called smart source. so what she does is she'll tell you it something like this......
item: pillsbury frozen rolls
original price: $5.19
Sale price: $1.99
Coupon: 50 cents off (R 11/30)
so you would go to the redplum section of the paper that came on 11/30 and clip that coupon. she also tells you the final price and since my store doubles it would reflect the final price after the double coupon.
i bought a three ring binder and those clear page protectors. i pull the coupon inserts from the paper on sundays and i write the date on the first page of the insert. i then put all the inserts from that date into a page protector then when i get my list from the grocery game each week, i select only the items i want to buy and print out my list (with just those items on it) then i take my list and sit down with my folder. i start with the first item and see the date of the coupon. i flip to that date in my binder and pull out the crrect insert. i clip only that coupon and put the thing back in the folder. thn repeat that with the rest of the items until i have cut out all my coupons. i also have a coupon organizer that i have labeled with each item catergory like "frozen, hosehold, meat, dairy, breakfast, baking, etc" i arrange my coupons that i have clipped into this organizer and then head out to the store. i have my organizer arranged in the order of the store aisles so i just flip through it and buy my stuff as i shop. that's it. it really only takes a few minutes each week. most women will cut their coupons and then spend a ton of time riffling through each coupon trying to find the one that they need. i used to do it this way and it would take me at least an hour to find my coupons or more.
you should call around and see if any of the stores around you offer double coupons. some will offer them on certain days but do not advertise it.
so it costs me about $2.50 each week to get the paper and have a membership to thegroceryame but i save so much it's worth it. i will send you a note and give you my email address. if you sign up, please put my email address in there as the one that reffered you. if you sign up three people, you get three months free. my sister in law already has 6 months free!!
also, the list tells you if something else is at rock bttom prices as well, not just things that you have coupons for so you can stock up like meat or produce or whatever. if you decide to sign up, i would save my coupons for a least 4 weeks before you join to get the most out of it. when i signed up, i didn't have any coupons saved up and so it took me about a month to really start saving money because i didn't have any of the coupons for the things the list was telling me were good deals. now i have about two months of coupons saved up and i'm saving a ton of money. my sister in laws are doing it as well and they love it. good luck.
Thanks for the tips and explaination. I'll have to talk to my dh last time, years ago I told him I wanted to subscribe to the sunday paper for the coupons he said no way, that it was a stupid thing to do in order to save a buck or two. Maybe I can get my MIL to give me her's she takes the paper and doesn't need the ads really. By the way you know my from LDS board incase you were wondering how I can across your blog.
