Papa's 90th and Diving Old Ladies

Saturday was my Papa's 90th birthday! We had a great time at the party. It was at my dads house and I provided all the food and the cake. My dad and step mom have been really busy lately and so I offered to just provide all the food. It's something I enjoy doing. So my dad thought about it and said that I could cater the whole thing and he would PAY me. Of course I would have done it for free, but if he wants to pay me... I won't argue with that.
Okay so funny side note: The part on the invitation said it started at 11:00. I of course was running late. My goal was to be at my dads house with all the food at 10:00 in time to set everything up so when people walked in it would look beautimous. Well. I end up getting there at 10:30 and what do I see but a ton of cars in the drive way!! Yep... everyone except for one of my cousins was 40 minutes early to the party. I was a little frazzled to say the least. So I get out of the car and start running putting everything in the house. I made my dad push everyone outside so I could set up and get them out of my way. I set the whole party up in 15 minutes!! I was a mad woman.

Here is the cake/cupcake combo. For more info and better pics, see my apartyinyourtummy blog. Each cupcake had something on it made from fondant representing his life.

Here is the food. My cousin's 2 teenage boys were there and I was pretty thankful for that because I had overdone it on the food. One of the boys had 8 (yes... 8) of the chicken salad on croissant sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed the food.

I made this collage and blew up some pics of my Papa and put them out for people to see. I also provided a guest book for people to write birthday wishes to my Papa.

My dad has a pool and so some of us brought our swim suits. My Nana loves to swim but she hasn't done it in about ten years. She didn't have a suit so she made this one. It's a 2 piece. What a hoochie!

For two weeks, all my Nana would talk about was being able to dive into the pool. I said NO WAY and reminded her that she is 86 years old. But she said she was going to do it anyways. I get my attitude from my Nana and if I say I'm going to do something, I mean it so watch out!!

And there she went. I made sure my dad was standing by in case she didn't come up.

But she did. Everyone got a kick out of her. She's hilarious.

My step mom set up a fun activity for Moma. She had fun drawing pictures and showing everyone how she can write A's and B's. (Working on "C" this week)

Here's Papa with the kids.

After lunch, we read the letters to Papa from the guest book. My aunt got choked up and had to pass it on to my dad to finish.

I am really bad at putting myself in pictures and handing the camera over to other people so these types of pictures are all anyone ever gets to see. Sorry!!

Cutie-pa-tootie!
Well, that was the party. It was a great day. Very relaxed with family and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves especially my Papa.

Your Nana is so awesome!! No one looks better in a bathing suit at 86 than her I'm sure! What a fun party. You did a great job!

Fun! I don't know how you did all of that. I get way overwhelmed and end up not having fun.

Your grandma is hilarious! I want to be like that at 86.

good evening dudes. I'm actually into shoes and I have been looking as far as something that exact brand. The prices for the sneakers were around 320 dollars on every site. But for all I found this locate selling them for the benefit of half price. I in reality love these prada sneakers. I will definetly purchase these. what can you say about it?
