Christmastime!!! PIcs...

We hold out decorating or anything until after Thanksgiving. I really enjoy the Christmas Season but I also like to have holiday's separated and lately it seems like after Halloween, it's Christmastime! (At least in the stores) Poor Thanksgiving gets pushed aside. So I wait and celebrate each holiday individually. The day after Thanksgiving is when all the decorations come out and when we buy our tree. We always get a fresh tree. We prefer them and I don't even own a fake one. A few years ago a tree lot worker told us that it's best to buy your tress right away because you can put them in water faster. They don't get watered at the lots. they just sit out and dry out. They are all cut down at the same time, so it's stupid to wait because by the time you put the thing in water, it's already dead. So we buy our tree right away and it always stays nice and fresh and makes the house smell wonderful!

Baby G wasn't too sure about the hat.
After we put baby g to bed, moma put on a few decorations before heading to bed herself.
Tonight for family night, we decorated a gingerbread house. This has become a yearly tradition. It's so fun and Moma enjoys it. I think she mostly likes sneaking the candy though.

After that, I made some cookies for the relief society party tomorrow night. This is my second time doing the color flow method of icing cookies. I just don't think I'm patient enough for this stuff. Towards the end, I didn't care what they looked like, I just wanted them to be done.

I just don't have a steady enough hand for this stuff. Cupcakes and fondant yes, but piping intricate detail... no. I will either need lots more practice, or just skip it all together and stick to cupcakes. After piping the gingerbread house and the cookies, I'm thinking I'll just stick to cupcakes. My hand HURTS!
