So todays random thought is.....
Why do husbands never listen to us wives when we suggest something??
They just don't listen. But if their friends mention it or they some how, weeks later, forget that you've mentioned it and then think it's their really awesome original idea, it's the best idea ever!!
Yeah, you know.. that same exact idea that I had weeks ago, which Mister Studly now thinks is a wonderful idea and that he some how came up with. That kind of thing. This has happened quite a bit in our marriage.

It goes a little bit like this...
The first incident happened about 9 years ago.
Me: Honey.... Let's go to Hawaii. I really think you would like it!
Him: I don't want to go to Hawaii. We have beaches here. Plus you know how much I hate the heat and the sand!
Me: But Hawaii is NOT like our beaches at all. It's beautiful. I really think you would love it.
Him: I don't think so. Let's go to Mammoth instead for vacation this year.
Me: Whatever!!! but I really do think you'd love it.
Flash Forward 2 years.
Mister Studly is talking to his friend on the phone. His friend is going to Hawaii and tells Mr Studly how awesome it is and that we should join them. They hang up the phone after talking about Hawaii some more and Mr Studly comes to me and says....
Him: Hey! Guess what! Our friends are going to Hawaii and they want us to come. It sounds so much fun. He was telling me about all these nice places to stay and all the things to do. I really think it would be fun. Do you want to see if you can get time off from work and go?
Me: (fuming) I have been asking you to go to Hawaii for two years and you always say no! Now because your friend wants to go, you want to go? I thought you didn't like the heat and the sand???? I thought we had beaches here???
Him: Yeah... ummmmm. Well... I was talking to my friend and he thinks we would have a really fun time.
Me: Ummmm.... You mean like I have been telling you for the last 2 years!!!!! Why is it all of the sudden such a great idea?? I've been wanting to go forever!
Him: Do you want to go or not?
Me: YES!!!!!!
So we go and it ends up being Mister Studly's favorite place in the whole world and we have gone nearly every year since. So technically if he had just listened to me in the first place, we could have had two extra years of Hawaiian vacations.
Did he learn his lesson?? Does he listen to me now?? BIG FAT NO!!!
We have been trying to think of something very inexpensive to do for vacation this year. Mister Studly's parents are coming to watch the kids soon and we still don't know exactly what we're planning on doing. We want it to be cheap. We don't care where we go just as long as we're together without kids and having one on one time.
Two Weeks Ago...
Me: Hey... Why don't we just go to Mammoth for the week? It will be cheap and even though the lakes won't be open, we will still have a lot of fun just hanging out.
Him: Oh.... I don't know... I really don't want to go to Mammoth if we can't fish.
Me: Okay we'll think of something else.
Today:
Mister Studly calls me....
Me: Hello??
Him: Hey! I just had a great idea!!
Me: What is it??
Him: Let's just go to Mammoth for vacation! I know the lakes won't be open but it will still be fun. We can just hang out and go in the jacuzzi and stuff. How does that sound??
Me: I think it sounds great!! In fact..... I think it sounded great when I mentioned it 2 WEEKS AGO!!!!
So why is it that husbands just can't listen to us wives? It totally baffles me. We've been married over ten years. You'd think he'd learn his lesson by now! I'm always right. DUH!!!!

There's really so many things that my husband should have learned right now. In fact the list is so long that I can't even begin to list them all here, or in fact remember them all, but let's just say that everything would pretty much always be so fantastic if he would just listen to me!!!
