I've been a crazy woman lately. Like seriously crazy.
Everything has been pretty stressful this last week. We are frantically trying to get this house in shape to get it listed for sale. We have started packing up some of the items we don't really need right now in order to get rid of some of the clutter and make the home more showable for prospective buyers. We packed up quite a bit this week and moved it to storage. Getting some of the items out of here will make it easier to keep clean as well and that's a bonus. But just when I was really on a roll with packing, the kids got sick. G has pink eye and an ear infection and cough. Moma has a super bad cough which has been keeping both of us up at night. Not sure if the kids are going though the regular aches and pains of being sick of if they are both having growing pains but both kids have also been complaining that their feet and legs hurt too. Last night Moma woke up 2 times (she actually woke up many times with coughing and drove me slightly insane because I was so dang tired) complaining of her legs hurting. I went in and rubbed them for her even though I was exhausted, having muscle spasms in my neck and needed to wake up early to finish a super cute cupcake order and run off to a boutique where I sold some of my Etsy items.
More on that later...
So in between sick kids, I had two major cupcake orders. One Friday and one Saturday. They weren't major as in a large quantity, just major in the sense that they were stressful. The first one was for a baby shower. These were for a friend of my Dad and Stepmother. My Dad had me make THESE awhile back for his friend and she was so impressed with them that she ordered some for a baby shower she threw today. I was stressed because these people are pretty dang rich. Like... have their own jet kind of rich and hang with the Real Housewives of OC kind of rich. So yeah.. not the same amount of pressure as say.... making cupcakes for my friends kid's 5th birthday party. So... I made THESE for the party and I just got a fantastic email from her thanking me for them. Whew....
Then this morning, I had THESE to make. They were for a client that found me online through my A Party In Your Tummy blog when doing a google search for teddy bear cupcakes. Now I shouldn't have to tell you why that one was stressful. Most of my clients thus far are family, friends or friends of friends. So to have some one contact me strictly though my blog was a first. Luckily it was legit and I wasn't hacked to bits during delivery. Of course Mister Studly tried to calm my fears by explaining to me that people don't hack people to bits and then eat teddy bear cupcakes..... but you never know....
I also sold my Etsy Shop Items today in my first ever boutique. They stuck me in a corner which was fitting since the name of my shop is "Lady Cupcake's Corner". I didn't do great... but I didn't do bad either. It was nice to get my feet wet in the boutique waters and I learned a lot about my products and what it takes to sell at a boutique. It was a small one so it was the perfect opportunity to check it out. next time, I will take what I've learned and apply it to my next boutique.
Here are a couple of the little ladies I sold with today. Check out their shops (and mine).
By the way... we're thinking... just thinking.... of doing a boutique at my aunts house sometime in May. Do you or anyone you know sell handmade items that they would like to sell??
Contact Me.
Okay so that's been the hap's around here. I really am going to be a crazy person this next week as well. Got to get the house listed for sale.. got to get ready for vacay and in laws coming. Moma's 4th b-day, etc. Craziness. Luckily Moma only wants a giant cupcake with a cherry on top for her cake. I can totally manage that one. It's a piece of cake compared to what I normally do.
Get it.. piece of cake? Oh.. I'm hilarious.
