I Heart Hump Days

And now for this weeks I Heart Hump Days

#1-Revlon ColorSilk Hair Color
I am so thankful for hair dye. I would be a grey haired old woman if it had never been invented. My hair is getting so grey (like really.... I'm not one of those ladies that says that when they see their first grey hair and freak out. I've had grey since I was 17 and it's just getting really bad lately). I like that it makes it look like I have natural highlights in my hair after I dye it, but I hate when it starts to grow out and all my grey shows. There's a lot of it. Trust me. That's why I'm so thankful for this brand of hair color. I can get it for 99 cents a box!! It goes on sale at Walgreens all the time for $1.99 and I often get coupons for it as well so I always stock up. It's wonderful.

#2- My New Cupcake Couriers
They have come in handy recently. I love how the part that you place the cupcake inside is nice and deep to where the cupcake won't tip over but short enough so that when you need to get a cupcake out, you don't ruin the pretty frosting. My mom bought two of them for me and they're awesome!!

#3- Pearl Jam

I love Pearl Jam. I always have. Their newest album is really great and I think has two of my all time favorite songs on there. Not to mention a whole lot of other good ones. I started listening to them when I was 12. I'm 30 now so that tells you how long they have been in my life. I love them and I love their music. They have seen me through the best of times and the worst of times. I have my "Bad Day" songs that I crank up and I swear it changes my mood instantly. I love them. When my kids were little, I would often sing Pearl Jam songs to them. Not nursery songs or church songs, but Pearl Jam. When Moma was in my tummy, I would crank up some PJ while on my way to work and she would move around like a maniac inside there. I remember thinking "Oh... I like this kid already!"
Anyways, I love them.

#4- WinCo
Yep, I love a grocery store. I wish there was one closer to my house but there isn't. Maybe that's a good thing actually. They have the BEST sales and I love their bulk food section. It's awesome. I went to visit my grandparents yesterday and they have one where they live so I took my Nana there. I got some really great deals. The only problem I see when shopping there is my lack of funds. I would love to just spend like $1000.00 there one day and come home with an entire years worth of food storage for my family. Yesterday I got Ragu on sale for 98 cents a jar!! and Cake Mixes for 78 cents a box. I also got a bunch of canned black beans for 68 cents. I'm actually not familiar with canned bean prices so I don't know if this is a smokin deal or not but it sounded good so I got 6 cans. (We have a salsa recipe that we love. It's super simple. They served it at Moma's school and it was delicious. All you do is open a can of black beans and a can of corn (drain them) and then dump some salsa in a bowl along with the corn and black beans and it's soooo good!! I highly recommend it. So simple, yet really tasty)
As soon as I'm done with this post, I'm going to email WinCo and ask them to put a store near me.
Do you think Heavenly Father will answer my prayers if I pray to have a WinCo put in by my house?

#5- Magic Erasers

These things are AWESOME!!! I haven't wiped down my walls, doors and cupboards for awhile and so I need to do that this week. Magic Erasers are the most awesome things ever. Especially when you have little kids that get their grimy paw prints everywhere. I use them to clean all my surfaces, like light switches, doors, walls, trim, base boards, appliances, cupboards, etc. It seriously IS Magic! I just turned my mom on to Magic Erasers and she is never going back. They're the coolest invention ever.
One little tip for you moms of little ones though...  Not sure how true this story is but I thought I would mention it...I read once that a mom was using them with her little boy. He was watching her clean the walls and thought it looked like fun so she thought that she could put the little guy to work and gave him one as well. They both cleaned for awhile and the kid was having a fabulous time. But after a bit, his hands started to hurt and so his mother took a look at them. They were bright red and starting to peel. She called Mr Clean and he said (LOL) that they do have a chemical in them that isn't okay for little sensitive hands like our kids have.  So just a word of warning.. if you're going to put your kids to work with a Magic Eraser, put some gloves on them first.

I Heart Hump Days

This week I'm loving all sorts of stuff but I'll just post a few that come to mind....

#1- Wacky Wednesday!
I love Wacky Wednesday. On my Cute Cupcakes. All The Time. blog, I do a feature every Wednesday where I post funny cupcakes. Sometimes when I'm searching through fifty seven bajillion cupcake photos, I run across something that is really funny. I always wonder things like "Now, why did they put that on a cupcake??" or "I wonder what kind of event these cupcakes were made for?!!" It's just a fun light hearted feature we run on the blog and I really look forward to finding a silly cupcake every week.
**Check out the blog to find out about those ticked off cupcakes above**

#2- Coupon Shopping
Most of you know that I'm a big coupon shopper. Lately I haven't even been going to the store much because I have so much in my stock pile at home. It's really awesome and I save so much money. Before I started coupon shopping, we had a grocery budget of $400.00 per month. That included all our toiletries, diapers, wipes, etc. Everything. I would often run out of money and go over budget. The cupboards would be pretty bare towards the end of the month and I would have trouble putting meals together. But not any more! Now that I coupon shop, my budget is only $200.00 AND I have roughly 4-5 months of food storage in my home right now. It's amazing that by using coupons, I can feed my family on such a small budget, try out new cleaning products and face creams and make up and still have enough left over to add to my food storage.
I use The Grocery Game to help me with my coupon shopping, If you're interested in it, let me know and I will send you an invite. For every three people you refer, you get 12 weeks free. It's only about a dollar per week anyways and when you're saving an average of over 70% on groceries each week, I think a dollar is totally worth it!!!

#3- Vacation

We have finally pretty much decided what we will be doing for Kid Free Vacation this year. We are running low on funds but getting away with each other is so important to us. My mother in law and father in law will be staying with the kids and Mister Studly's business partner will be coming down from up north to watch the shop. We had all the bases covered but still were unsure of where we would be spending our free week (and it's right around the corner!!)! Yesterday we finally came to the conclusion that Mammoth would be the place. We go to Mammoth every year, but usually we go at the end of summer for fishing and we go with the kids or other family members. This year we'll be going so early that the lakes will be closed and there will still be snow on the ground but just getting away just the two of us, It doesn't matter where we go. We're going to relax in the Jacuzzi and just spend time together. I'm going to sleep in and take naps. (I plan to do a lot of sleeping actually) It will be so awesome and I am really looking forward to it. I am the type of person that NEEDS to have something to look forward to or I feel like I will go crazy.

#4- Giveaways

That probably sounds really lame and pathetic but ever since we did our first giveaway on our cupcake blog, I have been in a giveaway mood. Except I want to be the winner, not the giver-away-er! I've been entering giveaways every day like a crazy woman. There are seriously so many that you could just sit online and enter giveaways all day long. I have to limit my time spent on entering these things or I would be on here all day and never eat or sleep or bathe. Even though I know my chances of winning are pretty slim, it's still better odds than the lottery! It's fun just to see what people are offering and dream about what you would do with the item if you were to win. It's almost like window shopping but instead of going home sad wishing I could buy all the fun things I've seen, I feel hopeful that some day I will get that email that says "You're the WINNER!!!"
Someday people... someday.
I tend to have pretty bad luck with these kinds of things but I'm hoping my luck will change soon and I can actually score something for free!

So that's it. My second I Heart Hump Days. It's been fun. See you next week.

I Heart Hump Days

I have gotten all excited about blogging lately. Especially with my Cute Cupcakes. All The Time. blog so I've decided to add a couple of features to my personal blog. Nothing fancy or well thought out. Just fun and light hearted features. My first will be today. I'm calling this post "I Heart Hump Days" which I will be doing every Wednesday. In case you didn't know.... Wednesday is also called "Hump Day" for all you sicko's out there thinking I meant something else entirely by "Hump". Plus my completely immature side will giggle every time I type "hump" and giggling is fun.
Lately I have been in a slump. I feel kind of funky and just not myself. I'm also feeling sorry for myself a lot too which I absolutely HATE!!!! Ugh! It's so frustrating because my brain tells me that I have sooooo very much to be thankful for but my emotional side is acting all "ooh poor me, poor me" Yeah.. totally annoying! Today I am having a good day and so I decided to share a few things that I'm loving this week with all my friends who read my blog (which according to the comments doesn't seem like a whole lot of people but whatever).
So every Hump Day, you can check out my blog and read about things that have made me happy during the week. This will be sort of therapeutic for me as well because it will force me to think about things I love and make me smile and be happy.

So here it goes.. My first official "I Heart Hump Days" post (**giggle**)

#1 Preschool!
Moma absolutely loves preschool. I was so nervous about putting her a few months ago. I really wanted her to get the social interaction from the other kids though and so I decided to enroll her a few days a week. She loves it and she is so happy there. There are a few things I love about it as well. It gives me time with Baby G alone. It's nice bonding time for us. Moma gets alone time with me all the time when Baby G is napping and she had lots of alone time with me before he was born. So this little three hour block, three times a week has been so nice for us. It also allows me to run errands faster as well without a three year old begging for every fun things she sees in the aisles of the stores. Target has become a weekly stop for us. We go and browse the aisles and I buy a popcorn and soda and Baby G goes to town. The pop corn is for him and the soda is for me. Then we bring the left overs to moma when we pick her up from school. Baby G actually starts yelling "pop-cone!! pop-cone!!" whenever he sees the Target sign. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm choosing to look at is as good since it gives us a fun little tradition.

#2- 15 Minute Clean Ups
I have cleaning O.C.D. You wouldn't know it by looking at my house though because it's always a mess. But what happens is, I start to clean the kitchen and I can't stop. I empty all the drawers and rewash everything. I feel this crazy need that if something gets picked up/straightened up, that it also needs to be completely cleaned and organized until my fingers are bleeding and then nothing else gets cleaned because I'm too tired to do anything else. So I set up a system awhile ago where I set my kitchen timer for 15 minutes and I clean one room. Then when the timer goes off, I force myself to stop and move on to something else. I also have another kitchen timer upstairs that I use too so I don't have to carry my timer around with me. I love using this system I made up because it makes me feel like I'm getting things done without going all O.C.D crazy.

#3- A Husband That Notices The Little Things
Every once and awhile Mister Studly will surprise me. This week he had to go to Sam's Club to pick up a few things. He called me and asked if I needed anything. I couldn't think of anything that we needed except bananas. He comes home not only with the bananas and the items he had gone there for, but also paper towels (we were on our very last roll) and black pepper. We had been almost completely out of black pepper and it's something I love. He could go without pepper but I am a pepper freak and put it on everything. So the fact that he remembered that we needed those things when I didn't made me smile.

#4- Sisters
Last night was our Relief Society activity and everything went so well. I was so nervous since I'm on the committee that things weren't going to go as planned. There's a lot of pressure when you have to try and find an activity that all the sisters will enjoy or at the very least... not hate. So last night we had such a fun time and every one seemed to really enjoy themselves and it made me so happy. I love all the sisters in my ward.

#5- Good Timing

I hope my cousin doesn't mind me posting this but I've been thinking about it all week. She was in a really weird car accident. No one was hurt and that's what I mean by Good Timing. Her car went crazy and accelerated really quickly. The brakes didn't work during this time. Even the E break wasn't working properly. They had been about to get on the freeway. If the accident had happened a moment later than it did, it could have been disastrous. The timing was amazing.

#6- My Bissell Steam Mop
This thing is awesome. I love love love it. It works so well and gets all the nasty gooey food bits my kids throw on the floor then step on and smoosh into the tile. There's only so much you can sweep up and this steam mop works so great. I love watching all the icky gooey things come up and the floor get all sparkly clean. It's one of my favorite things right now.

So that's it. My first "I Heart Hump Day"

Another feature I'll be doing is "Random Thought Thursday". I am filled with randomness. I keep myself up at night wondering about totally weird things. I figure.... I might as well share my random thoughts with some one. Lucky you.
